    Odyssey vs. Diehard Platinum

Sears doesn't stand behind the Platinum very well anyway, just go Odyssey instead. I have had amazing customer service from them with regard to my Diehard Platinums, when Sears was useless. The were super-helpful and informative which to me is worth the extra $$. It was the exact opposite...

    Solar power for camping/overlanding trips installed 6 27 2009

My solar controller is mounted on my panel and switching to 10 gauge wiring really made a difference in efficiency, something to keep in mind when you re-vamp things.

    Solar power for camping/overlanding trips installed 6 27 2009

I know in Yosemite that you must store everything in the bear boxes(and they make you sign a document to that effect) but I thought in places like Sequoia and Mammoth, its ok to have it in the vehicle as long as it is covered up. Is that no longer the case? As far as a fridge in a bear box...

Ark Pak - Questions and Queries

Not the shaft itself, but the mount for the jack where it attaches to the frame. When the jack is in travel mode, stored against the side of the frame, how tall is the mount bracket from center to top? I'm trying to figure out on my trailer how far the mount would be above the frame? Thanks.

Ark Pak - Questions and Queries

Question for you Brett on the XO Jack, Had my eye on this for awhile, great to see you are going to be selling them. What is the distance from the center of the jack mount to the top of the jack mount? It's the only measurement I'm not seeing on the website. I'm basically trying to figure...

trying to find some wolf pack aka south african ammo boxes

Personally, I tried to like Wolfpack style boxes but the latches, whether plastic or metal, suck to deal with, plastic ones break and fall off and the metal ones fall off quite a bit too. I gave up and went with the Container store boxes linked above and some of their gray watertight ones...

That may be why the Maxtrax shattered, I don't think you are supposed to pile stuff under them when bridging. On the other hand, one would think it wouldn't make a difference, but in your case it obviously did. Maybe the perfect storm of rock piling! Certainly lots of videos of people using...

Laurel Lakes- Mammoth CA Roll Over

If you look at the expo thread linked in post #4, there are some pics of the switchback. There is a landing that is flat and level at the switchback that you can pull forward onto, then backup and make a 3 point turn, to line up to go down the rest of the trail. Same on the way back up. This...

Laurel Lakes- Mammoth CA Roll Over

Check out this thread for pics of the switchback. I used the landing both going down and coming up to get around that switchback, wouldn't even consider trying to actually make the turn. Very sad news...

    Windows 10 has arrived

Most of the folks who don't work in the Entertainment industry probably don't get it. I'm a Windows guy, have been for many years. For what it's worth, at work, all of our editing/coloring systems are Linux based.

    Track Bar Bracket

Totally agree, I have the AEV 2.5" lift with the rear track bar tower and the handling is superior than stock. Scary how much potential mis-information is flung about, or quotes like "Everything moves to the forbidden area with 2.5" Forbidden for who? :yikes: Does one need to do research...
