    5.29 w/35s, 1st Gen Tundra

Can't speak to the tundra, but I run 4.56's with 35's on my JKU. It seems good but there are times I wish I had the 4.88's. don't know about your diffs, but for the jeeps (unless a rubicon) 5.12's are about as high as you can go due to the small pinion size you would end up running on the dana...

    Trailer vs. Roof

I do both, but predominantly do the trailer thing now. Different vehicle (2014 jku) but really prefer the trailer for all the reasons above. FWIW and I know you said it didn't matter to you, but my mileage is about the same for either option. My trailer is a bit heavier though (M101a2) but...

    Brainstorming

agree with tatanka. As much as I love the timbren stuff, you can find parts for the good old dexter axle just about anywhere. (not saying I wouldn't do Timbren, just something to consider) Plus Dexters are a lot cheaper and it's not like you are riding in the trailer anyway. I set my trailer up...

Regear - 4.56 or 4.88 for overland JKU

Exact same setup as you. I went with 4.56's, but in retrospect I should have done 4.88's. The 4.56's are fine but a little more grunt wouldn't hurt.

    DIY trailer build tool question?

chop saw 4.5" grinder Hobart gas mig. I have the one that will do 110/220. The 210 MVP. Nice to be able to just plug into a 110 socket for small jobs, but nice to have the horsepower as well. I have had a pro welder use it and his comments were it was really hot(a good thing). 1/4" impact is...

    SoDak's M101A2 build

Well didn't get to actually work on the trailer, but did a bunch of prep work on the Jeep to start getting ready to wire up the brakes. The Curt Spectrum controller came in and I played with that a bit. also got rid of all of my hodgepodge DIY wiring and installed an apollointech controller...

    New JLR

Sweet, love it, even if it is orange(actually like orange but my wife won't let me get one as it is the school color of our in state rival.

What did you do to your Expo Jeep today?

I lived in Jacksonville for 3 years. actually my wife lived there for 3 years, I was deployed for almost half that. We had snow flurries one time and they called school. We actually don't get much in OK any more, but I grew up in the black hills of SD, so I've seen my fair share. FWIW, I...

What did you do to your Expo Jeep today?

Installed KC flex floods to use as ditch lights. Still have some adjusting to do. Like the fact that they are really small.

    Evolution of one man’s Jeep

Not a lot of difference in 3+ years. Just like everyone's else, a work in progress. I am on my 2nd set of sliders which are sitting unfinished in the garage. Also added some A pillar ditch lights that I don't have a very good pic of. You can just see the RTT in the background which can go on...

    Off road lights

Cheap amazon 10" single row in my front bumper(for $60 it does a pretty good job). Sits just under the winch in the pic below. Just picked up a pair of the KC flex lights. No real purpose in mind yet but will probably mount to the A-pillar angled outwards for ditch lights.

    4.56 or 4.88s?

4.88's are ok in the D30 fit wise. I have 4.56's and wish I had gone to 4.88's in retrospect. No issues with the 4.56's but would like a bit more low end. I typically don't drive much over 65 anyway.

    Any Handgun Hunter on here?

Beautiful. I sold mine to a friend. 7mm TCU. It was/is a shooter. Have a few animals under my belt with it, out to 200 yards.

    SoDak's M101A2 build

Not on the trailer, but related. I am starting to wire up my Jeep for the 7 wire harness and didn't want the connector hanging low. Since I don't run a bumper the perfect spot (to me) is in the back of the factory jack compartment. Using the mopar harness. At this point all I have done is the...

    RTT size?

Bigger is better. I went with the 2nd largest size CVT has, only because the biggest was too big for the jeep. Had I known it would live it's life on the trailer I would have gone bigger.

Test driving a Jeep tomorrow, looking for some tips.

The bumpers that are on it are EXTREMELY heavy. I had them. Not a fan of those. Roof rack is a cheaper one also. I had that too....lol. Sold all of them and picked up what I wanted. I'll agree those Alpine arms are nice. AEV wheels are good, Decent shocks. I have not personally experienced...
