Well...it depends.... For rivers, up to Class III, I'd go with a nice Ducky inflatable...but for lakes...inflatables are frustrating, IMO. Maybe a compromise with a sit on top tandem, like a Cobra? For 2-3 folks, I prefer a sit on top or canoe. For solo I like a hard shell. HTH -H-

GM internally regulated alternators are mostly 1 wire, case ground, so I'm betting even a swap over won't be that difficult, and most stores sell the GM alternator plugs separately from the alternators. -H-

For either rig in your signature line you should be able to go to the local parts store and pick up a replacement; although I've had interesting luck with cases fitting Land Cruiser bracketry, and being indexed correctly. It might be better to have it rebuilt, but just take the MG in and...

Many, if not most, alternators don't really charge at idle, IIRC. It may be as simple as a voltage regulator or diode that has gone bad. I'm assuming it's internally regulated. Have you checked the brushes? Does it charge at higher RPMs than idle? -H-

I'm interested as well. I don't recall my 80 being loud to begin with, so this one should be uber-nice! -H-

Love the bumper! The nice thing about 80s is they are soooo easy to build! Plenty of great parts, simple suspension, great comfort factor.... ...now back to my thinking about a trip to Yemen to find air conditioning parts....:coffee: -H-

The psi range should be listed on the tire itself, on the sidewall. Toyota recommended tire pressures for stock tires are listed on the driver's side door jam. Most folks I know run about 40psi street, and vary from 12-25 psi off tarmac, depending upon conditions. -H-
