LOL....
To make you feel better, I had just pulled a home made apple pie (including crust and neighborhood apples!) out of the oven the other night when I got called out on a SAR....

LOL...some folks just don't realize that LC owners are a bit more laid back than others....I guess it comes from spending time exploring, rather than fixing, the rigs....

If you really want a 70, take a look at IH8MUD. Canadian ones come up more frequently than you'd think; some have already been imported. Plus, if a 70 was ordered as new to a Canadian dealership, you may even be able to import it before it is 25 years old....that's how mine is here.

Early 70s and BJ40s will have the 3 or 3B diesel. I'm not quite sure what options would be most sought after....but I'd think, at least for a 70 series, a turbo, air conditioning and power steering would be high on the list.
The easiest way to import it legally is to use a regisered importer...
Hola gents....
About a year ago I bit the bullet and purchased an Odyssey battery for my 1150GS.
Last week I found that some little fingers (read...my daughter) had turned on my GPS and let the battery run down.
So, I tried to recharge the Odyssey and no go...wouldn't go about 6V or so, and I...
Stock jets were in it from the PO. Only difference is the K&N air filter for more airflow.
PO was running a "hot" spark plug for the altitude, as well as not running highway too much. Maybe try going to a cooler plug?
...or maybe someone with some thumper experience could ride it and tell...
The GPS III and Vs were subject to a software patch. Download and install the new patch and you'll be good to go.
My V was doing the same thing....

I usually use 'el cheapo lights for this reason....
But for my more expensive ones I've done the tack weld thing...same with the winch and bumper itself....it's pretty darn easy to cut the winch leads and unbolt the entire bumper otherwise.
