    Knocking upon deceleration ??????????

Try putting a tank of 91 octane in it....then see if you get the same results. Just remember...that rig isn't a high performance machine...which is the beauty of it. -H-

    40 backseat and storage

I went through the same type of decision making process when I put the rear seat in my Troopy. As you'll likely want seatbelts and bomber mounts, I'd rethink bolting the seat and/or belts to anything wooden. Even with very good backing plates, the strength of whatever was used to hold the box...

    Mountain Rescue Association!

I have to express my excitement. Last night our local SAR Board of Directors voted to allow our technical/mountain rescue team to put in an application to become MRA certified! http://www.mra.org/ It's a step that those of us who have been Tech members for years have been pushing for, and the...

    Aussie Locker questions

I guess you could always throw it in and see how it works, then put the spider gears back in if it turns out to be a problem...or you could just drive the mini van when it snows..... -H-

    Aussie Locker questions

Remember my '77 40? I had a lockright in the back which was scary on snow and ice...no way I would ever let Amanda drive it because of the poor manners.... Save your pennies and get an ARB...if you need a locker....with the winch and your driving abilities I'd think it wouldn't be...

Where to find parts for 2008 F650GS?

He could probably post a WTB add on Adventure Rider and get some parts. Touratech also makes a lot of aftermarket items for the GSs....but TT isn't exactly giving the stuff away.... -H-

    Which Enduro helmet to purchase?

Snell has recently changed its rating system. Prior to, I believe, 2008, a Snell rated helmet was "harder" due to the test platform being subjected to two impacts on the same area of the helmet. Naturally, to pass the test, the helmet had to me slightly more dense. Any DOT rated helmet will...

Vehicle mount, or pelican case for 7800?

I'm having a hard time making a decision as to mount my Yaesu 7800R in the Land Cruiser, or making it a portable unit, with a simple Quad-Helix or J-pole antenna with a small 12V battery in a pelican case. I have a Yaesu 170 HT which lives in the truck, and does just fine for vehicle to vehicle...

1991 land cruiser, is it worth it?

Wow...I thought for $12K it was a diesel.... Personally, I wouldn't pay more than $3500 for a 3FE FJ80 unless it was already set up...then maybe add 1-2K to the price. -H-

The "bird feeder" snorkel head - what's it's purpose?

Don't mind at all...I didn't know that the OEM cover was underneath....learn somethin' new everyday about land cruisers... I'd assume it keeps sand out by limiting the intake.... -H-
