you can get a used VW westfalia up here for around $1000 that would come with all the inside stuff as well. keep the top and possibly buy a new canvas (they are still available) and sell the rest. with some basic fiberglassing skills on the canopy it wouldn't be too hard.
I used a mr. buddy heater. it uses either bottles or a hose to hook to alarger propane tank. I would turn it on about 1 hour before bed and be nice and toasty to get into the bag. leave it on pilot over night and switch it on when I woke up in the morning and give it 1/2 hour to warm the trailer.
well I have wheel spacers on my samurai. I feel that with it being light its not much of a problem. On a heavy cruiser I would get offest rims. less things to go wrong. I have seen a few spacer split and come off doing considerable damage.

they all use a pump on the fresh water side so running them dry is not a good idea. We had a small one on our boat so we would recirc it into a bucket until it was warm enough then use it for showering.
salvage title and it has a t400 tranny (non OD) and a crappy quadratrac tcase. you can get a VERY nice fj80 for that price with a stock motor and lockers.
thats a pretty cool setup! I was looking at my Coleman colorado the other day and thought hey that would look pretty cool on top of a van. or basically what you have shown.
is the 2h head the same? if so you should be able to get one from canada easy enough. maybe even a complete 2h motor. or call Raddcruisers or GS cruisers and get a complete 12HT awesome motor.
I had my sockets and wrenches like that for about 6 months. Yes it is nice to not lose them but what a pain getting to the middle ones! I found I had more tools lying in the dirt this way then the old way as all the sockets have to come off to get to the middle one! Where do you put those sockets?
A typical 120v electric blanket probably draws around 1000W. typical heating type appliance. to get the required W from 12V you would need 1000/12= 85A circuit! I'd say that will drain a battery pretty quick! I did find one 120V electric blanket that said it was low voltage but offered no details.
aint' that the truth! We found the easiest place was the pass. front seat. put down the protective tarp thingy and have at it. Keep the diaper bag at the feet of the car seat.
We did a two week drive trip from Victoria to Edmonton to Calgary and back to visit relatives when our little guy was...
