I have OME HD shocks and I'm wondering when I need to replace them. I have about 3.5 years and 40K miles on them. It's not like the vehicle bounces a lot and suffers from a lack of dampening, but this kind of thing seems like it slowly degrades over time and it's hard to tell when it's time...

Simple green? Also, the WD40 doesnt' sound too bad either. I don't think it will ruin the enamel/ paint. Also, remind me not to eat anything cooked on that stove. :)
