    My Disco2 Build

So I have a month before i'm going down to Moab and this week a trip was planned for Easter weekend up to Wyoming. I could either fix my truck (Ford F350 Powerstroke, Blown EGR COOLER) or fix the rover. Since I hate working on the Ford, well the Disco got the nod. Complete gasket kit, valve...

    My Disco2 Build

So this happened. I had been trying to track a small ticking sound since i bought it months ago. I could never figure it out. It finally because a large sound the other day. kind of like a train. I pulled out my compression checker and found cylinder number 3 was only holding 50 PSI and...

Realistically...how often do you use your hi-lift?

I had one about 10 years ago on my toyota. I was to poor to afford a winch. It went with the toyota when I sold it. Now I just use my handy Land Rover Jack should the need arise, and I use my winch to pull myself out if I ever get stuck. I just hate all the extra weight.

    Terrafirma shocks/springs life

I have some TerraFirmas on the rear of my Disco 2. The shock is fine, its still working great. but the "paint" is falling off already. I've only had them on for about two months. Its only snowed once and the road has only been salted once since I installed them. kind of annoying. I have...

    My Disco2 Build

Added a bit of differential protection to the front axle. Its was supposed to be a bolt on affair but it wouldn't fit right. So a bit of cutting and welding later, it's permanent.

    My Disco2 Build

Okay So here is what I did to mount my ARB Air Compressor. I have very limited room under the hood. I wanted it as close to the battery as possible, out of any mud and water, and able to keep it somewhat cool. I know, engine bay. So, without further ado, I looked at it for awhile and...

Best Place to mount an ARB air compressor in a Discovery 2 with SAI?

Okay So here is what I did. I know I said I had SAI. I actually removed it a while ago and put an air compressor in its place. I didn't say anything because I didn't want anyone confused. So, without further ado, I looked at it for awhile and thought about building a steel plate to hold it...

Best Place to mount an ARB air compressor in a Discovery 2 with SAI?

I'm trying to find a decent place to mount my ARB air compressor for a rear locker. I'm not really sure I want it on the frame. I'd rather have it secured in the engine compartment. But there doesn't seem to be any room for it in there.

    My Disco2 Build

Mine doesn't have any of those issues. You have to know what your getting into. Change the thermostat to the 180 degree version, use good oil, good coolant and keep up the maintenance. She'll treat you well.

Nitto Trail Grappler - real world feedback

I have these on my 2006 Ford F350 6.0 Crew Cab Long Bed. They do very well in the mud even when pulling a 14000 lbs trailer behind it. They have been wearing very evenly. They balance very well. They are expensive though. a 285-65-18 E tire is about $360. So that's my only gripe so far.
