So I have a bit of work ahead of me. Straightening, cutting, welding, wiring, greasing parts, painting and removing brackets I don't want on it. Then I'll start phase two.
Pictures, no particular order, to show what needs to be fixed.
So, I've decided not to narrow the trailer. its about the same width as my Disco, so it doesn't look funny behind it. I decided to try it off road and get a base feel for it behind my Disco. The disco seemed to pull it fine off road and on road.
A few pictures:
Ok. So I spent some time working on it yesterday. It's pretty fun. I've been able to straighten out a lot of it with a hammer and dolly. I started cutting out the rusty areas as well. So far I have 4 areas that need some minor work. The bed floor is pretty beat up. So that will take a bit of...
Bought this baby for $300. And my wife is actually happy with it.
Plans: may include narrowing it, lowering it a little, roof top tents, fuel storage, brakes, rust repair, rebuilding the axles.
Pictures:
welcome aboard. I still miss my P38. But due to having a 4th child I had to sell it and get a Disco 2 SE7.
My P38 was a great truck. ran great and never left me stranded.
yup, it'll ding until its in low range or hi range.
once the center diff is locked a red light will appear showing its locked. Make sure to unlock the diff if you turn off the ignition. The ABS and Traction control will not work once restarted. Atleast on mine. So I have to shift it into...
A local guy is asking $100 bucks. I can't decide if they are bling or useful. I watched a few reviews. Its a crap shoot. It looks like half the people using the break them
My question is are they worth having?
I can pick up a set of used Smittybuilt element ramps for a good deal. I just don't know if they are worth owning or not? I already have a 10K winch on the front of my disco. But sometimes I find myself out in the desert with nothing to anchor myself to...
I like My ARB as well. The only bumper that looks good on an LR3 or 4 is the ARB. I don't like the other bumpers.
But for a lighter weight solution, the hidden winch is a great way to go with a grill guard, if anyone made one that didn't look horrible.
I got the Shocks from Lucky8. I've only driven on the around town today for about 10 miles. But!, I can already tell they are pretty nice. My back end does not pogo over all the big bumps now. I can actually go over a driveway ramp without the rear going airborn and bouncing around. much...
I bought some new rear shocks finally. I thought I'd give these a try. They get pretty good reviews, they are supposed to be as good as Old Man Emu shocks for half the cost. So we shall see how they do. Anything has to be better then the stock shocks. I bounce around like a pogo stick if I go...
I have had the flu for a few days now. So I haven't gotten much done. I drugged myself up tonight and finished a few things.
I got the top end back together.
