Check your electric lift pump, its on the left rear of the block. They like to go bad all the time and then your VP44 injection pump goes out, the lift pumps don't like the vibration or heat of the engine. The VP44 creates a suction so your engine will run but your IP will be getting starved...
No. I am not to famaliar with the manual saginaw boxes. I know the power ones had three or four mounting bolt options and I think the manual boxes had three bolts. I think a four bolt power box would bolt up to a three bolt manual spot and then you could make the fourth hole using some sleeve...
A Honda XR250 is a great beginner bike. It won't do interstate but for trail riding and back country lanes its awesome. Easy to fix and maintain. I started in dirt on a Husky 610 but I am 6'6" and 250+ lbs so it was no problem. I have ridden a XR250 and they are just plain fun. All my bikes...
Hmmm. I should let consumer reports drive my Cummins 4bt powered Jeep M715 or my 52 M-38 with a Ford small block and dual blown out glass packs before testing a new Jeep and see if their report would be different.
How does the thermotec hold up in open topped vehicles exposed to the...
The first gen Dodge Cummins were from 89-93 and had the Getrag 5 speed trans with the right hand drop NP205 transfercase, the Cummins had a Bosch VE pump on these. The second gen Dodges were from 94-02 and had a NV4500 five speed for the most part with a left hand drop NP241 transfercase. The...
Which trans do you have? First gens had a Getrag behind them with a right hand drop NP205 t-case, Second gens had the NV4500 with a left hand drop NP241. This was 4x4, 2x4's had the same trans minus the t-case. What axle you going to use for the 4x4 conversion? The NV4500 is the better and...
CNG engines are nothing new to Cummins, just making them small enough to fit in trucks is. In the early 2000's I worked on some Caltrans LD F250's that were mid to late 90's with 5.4 engines that were dual fuel. I know they had problems back then with these rigs because eventually they just...
Gas engine? Interesting. I know the last bunch of new F450 bucket trucks for a phone company that came through where I work were all gas rigs. With the price of diesel fuel and the cost of owning a diesel with emissions equipment we are going to be seeing more commercial rigs have gas engine...
Don't forget solar flares too.:) Back in the 1850-60's time range there was a pretty good solar storm that if it would have happened today would be very bad.
I don't know which would fail first, your door hinges or the sheetmetal. Sheetmetal is too thin without doing some re-enforcing on the inside of the door and Chevy door hinges aren't known for their strength. You will be much better off with a good bumper mounted system.
Or Allied soldiers adapted it because it was a better design. After all I do believe 20 L fuel cans got their generic name in WWII and were very much in demand by Allied soldiers after said cans were liberated.:coffeedrink:
Good clean bathrooms with showers. If she does most of the cooking at home then you do all the cooking and clean up on the camping trip, gives her a vacation.:) Start small, like a weekend camp trip that is close to home.
Well in that case. I would take 101 north from SF to Crescent City, then 199 to Grants Pass OR. Then north on I5 to Roseburg. Then take 138 over to 97 and north to Bend. On 101 you will get to see Redwoods and 199 goes along the Smith River which is one of the most beautiful rivers in CA...
No matter which way you take you will be somewhat limited in your explorations by weather. Inland higher elevations will have snow pack and coast will have rain/mud which means some roads will be closed/impassable. I think NV would be your best bet for dirt and out of the way places.:)
Steel Soldiers has a trailer forum and some builds on these trailers. Tractor Supply has conveyor belting that is supposed to work great for the clam shell hinges.
I loved my old '92 610. I replaced it with a KTM 525 but my old Husky was just a good all around bike. It went to Glamis, Baja, and lots of single track in N CA.
