Critique my solar charger/battery monitor setup?

So, an inverter in my truck and a 50' 120v extension cord to power my inverter.[EDIT: Converter*] Two charge sources for the converter, the power from the dedicated outlet it's plugged into usually and the extension cord from the truck I'm adding. I could unplug the converter from one source...

    Canyon/Colorado auxiliary 4x4 Indicator?

On my 2011 full size chevy the 4wd select dial is obscured by the shifter when it's in drive, and it's just the tiny light anyway. I hate it. I liked my 04 better where the buttons were more visible and light was bigger.

    Portable generator solutions

Dreadlocks beat me to it. Softstart might allow you to run a smaller generator.

Camp truck with VE power system up/running

Could someone tell me what is the purpose of the Smart BatteryProtect between the charge sources and the battery? I thought the Smart BatteryProtect was to prevent from discharging the battery too much. Is this a lithium thing? Also the negative output of the dc/dc charger is going to the left...

    Which truck for me?

OP doesn't haul or tow anything heavy, doesn't care about fuel mileage, and is already used to a minimalistic approach. He wants a smoother ride than the car he's driving now. I'd say just buy any half ton 8 foot bed and throw a high rise topper on it. Get the smallest size wheels available and...

I did some research, it looks like the pump rub affected 88-07.5 trucks. Hopefully mine is immune. Not sure about the color though.

Did the new axle solve the problem? Maybe it's the diff cover? Banks has a series of videos on this.

Hey Vortec Guys! / Sierra pickup / Suburban / Yukon etc - Finally has Index!

I had to double check the fluid type. Starting with the 2007 model year, General Motors introduced a series of new transfer case designs to replace the New Venture Gear units they used in the past. Built by Magna Powertrain (MP), the new units are available in three different models: •...

Cigarette plug Are you talking about at 6:00? He used a trolling motor plug which is good for something like 40 amps. As for the 30 amp 110v plug, he's using it for 12v. He's using it because he had it and it nice sized wire and it works for him but if someone plugged that into a actual 110...

The hardest part about dropping a fuel tank is disconnecting the fill hose imo. I've been told that you can do it without disconnecting that hose though by just tipping down one side of the tank.

I changed my transfer case fluid at 100k and it looked awful, my diff fluids all still looked brand new. Now at 130k I decided I should change the transfer case fluid again. It looked awful again. It's not burnt and brown like old transmission fluid, it changed from a pink to a dirty purple...

    General gripe

I liked the waffle layer which didn't look too bad in brown. The Michelin man puffy jacket was great and I was the only one in my unit that got one for some reason. Lots of cold jealous stares.

Ski Bum Truck V2.0, F450 Rough Road RV

I bought one of those for my travel trailer. When it arrived the internal deadbolt lever was broken, they sent me a new one and I fixed it. After a few months of use it started unlocking and locking randomly, they sent me out a new circuit board and its fixed for now. My wife doesn't like to...

Critique my solar charger/battery monitor setup?

I'm a little skeptical about how much of a charge is actually gonna get through to the batteries since they're 25' away and 6awg wire. From the factory there's a 30 amp self resetting breaker on the line. The converter is 60 amp. Are they expecting the size of the wires to limit the charge to...
