i worked on a guys cherokee who installed his 4" lift before he had the SYE kit installed. he commented how horrible it was and ordered the SYE kit a few days later.
i can't remember which kit the guy bought, but it came with a rear driveshaft replacement as well. it might have been a Tom...
on the front you won't get anymore travel out of the bilstien struts. i talked to the company about the struts and he said they are just an OEM replacement. so you can remove the front sway bar and not have any issues other then more body roll.
on the rear those look to be OEM length...
you can remove the links on the rear sway bar and leave it there just fine. its on the axle and won't move any.
on the front end you will need to remove the 4 bolts holding the sway bar on the body. its fairly easy to remove.
you'll have to test to see what happens.
how are your rear shocks? if they are only an inch longer then stock you should not need to do anything with the brake lines. but you should still check by driving up a loading dock with one tire on the ramp to check the brake lines.
i'm using 12"...
i guess it depends on your driving habits. i've had mine removed for about a year now and it has not rolled yet.
i guess my best suggestion is to use common sense. its a jeep, not a ferrari. if you don't feel safe without them, just leave them alone.
i drive mine everywhere and on the...
the tank should be pretty good. 42 gallons should give me a nice range. if i get 17 mpg on the highway i can go 714 miles per fill-up. but it will be a little expensive to fill up. $120 for a full tank.:Wow1:
junkyard stereo install. awia stereo with aux input. 6x9 eclipse 3 way speakers. also installed two amps: pioneer 300W mosfet and sony 444W mosfet amp.
i'll be adding speakers in the rear doors later on.
sorry about the crappy cell-phone pictures.
alright some progress today. i installed my transmission and t-case, installed the 42 gallon gas tank. cleaned up a bunch of crap.
my engine is still at the machine shop having the new cam bearings installed. the machine shop guy also said he...
i have not found a job yet. i have enough savings to make it for another month pretty easily. hoping to work in the oil field for the summer months and sock away $20-30K:elkgrin:
that will require a ton of overtime though, not much family time. but when i go back to school in the fall i'll...
still waiting for my parts to put my engine back together.
but i did buy:
summit RV cam and cam bearings:victory:
i've finished honing the cylinders in the engine and i used a ridge reamer on it. all the parts are cleaned and mostly painted. if my rings and gaskets would just show up, i...
Tank is out of a late 80s to early 90s burban.
like this
it fits between the rear frame rails behind the axle. i have not installed it yet as i have the whole jeep torn apart in my garage because i'm replacing the motor right now. hopefully in the next couple of weeks it'll be installed...
consider the fact that you can go to a junkyard and pick up a 42 gallon suburban rear tank and it fits behind the rear axle with minor modifications. and it will only cost you about $20 for the fuel tank and $20 for some straps to mount the tank in the back. that price is really steep.
but...
need to source an engine stand.
i almost have the whole engine torn down. i must say its in great shape. i also bought a cylinder honing tool. hopefully all my parts will show up quickly and i can get this thing together quickly.
i'm going to do a dual exhaust and call it good. pictures...
i finally got the 360 home yesterday. i started tearing it down today. its in great shape. there is still the honing in the cylinders.
i ordered an engine kit off ebay for $136 which includes: main and con rod bearings, complete gasket kit and new rings.
plan is to hone the cylinders and...
