Pouring rain, driving at 70 mph and no leaks. All day on trails at low speed and still no dust. But to keep everything clean with blowing winds at camp the above mentioned bags or tubs are a must.
I won't say my 416 is "dustproof" but pretty close. I have a lid with a heavy duty gasket from an auto body shop my neighbor runs. It seals so tight it is sometimes hard to open the lid due to the seal. That being said I also keep most of my gear in rubbermaid tubs in the trailer. In...
Saw your question on the shocks for the lid and I think he has a Sierra 4x4 lid as do I. Probably center mount on lid and about 8" away from edge of tub. I have a RTT and I used 175 lb shocks. Hard to get started (mostly due to seal) but works great otherwise. Hope this helps.
There are some pictures of the springover and the shock mounts and shock data on my old build thread. I run 33's but if I went to 35's I would probably get rid of stock shackles and use old CJ3 extended ones.

I have a Sierra 4x4 lid and it is great but others have had problems. I would agree to check with Cascadia. I have seen Cascadia at OX and they make a fine product. Fit is always an issue as most M416's are not straight on the top rails or square. Most use 1" angle iron and weld on the top...
