Great to see that you are making progress on this thing. Sometimes these "short" projects take forever. Especially if you have a Jeep that is busy emptying your pocket!!!!
More pictures. I need new ideas that I can borrow.
Yes a springover is in your future but on the other hand the tires and rims look great. SOA is easy but will have to modify your cable connect a little if plan to continue to use it.
BTW if you look at my build thread, page 7, post 68, there is a detailed explanation of doing the springover...
Basic is the other broad term. My M416 is perfect for me and my 33 year old son and his new girlfriend likes it too (for short stays)!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Comfort and convenience is taking over my life so my wife wants something more "substantial". Since it is hard to tow a Homewood Suites...
Mark is correct. Asbestos is only an issue when in the air and not in solid form. There is more asbestos in the air during rush hour on the freeway then what you get working on the trailer (yes I am a geeky safety engineer who has done the air samples). That being said I am sure someone makes...

You are right that...
I have been trying to keep up with your build but you are fast!!! I probably missed it but did you put up the specs on solar panel, controller, and battery? I am looking to add to my trailer to keep the 105ah charged while out more than 3 days. I like your setup.
Thanks.
While you have the hubs apart go ahead and check the brakes, springs, adjustment nut, etc. Easier to do it now than pull it apart later and maybe have to replace the rear seal again
Great find and post plenty of pictures!!
I feel your pain. It is amazing what you find when you start taking this things apart!!!!!
At least you get to apply all you learned on the first one so this one will be even better than the first.
I agree but the reality is the Jeep sits most of the time and the Taco doesn't. Ever tried driving without AC when it is 100+ outside!!! My better half keeps telling me that I am not as young as I think I am, and she is going to find me by the side of the road in the old Jeep.
I thought...
After 3 years of debate, I have finally lost my battle to make the M416 go behind my CJ.
The CJ has finally been retired to car show status and show and shine events and is a Bad*ss Starbucks vehicle. Here she is today.
A great vehicle that I have had a long time but really does not...
