Update: Bought It - WTB: Land Rover LR3

I was the same way until I drove them back to back. The 4 interior is ways above the 3, and the 5.0 is a monster.

Is buying a Discovery II a bad idea?

I still kick myself for not putting the Toyota V6 drivetrain from my rotted T100 into my D1 when the head gasket blew up.

    LR3 dog stuff

The Harbor Freight utility covers are CHEAPP and machine washable. I just put one in my backseat and popped grommets in so the headrests hold it in place I bought another for the cargo area.

    Discovery 3 (LR3) and Discovery 4 (LR4) Registry

The power is goooood. I was originally settling on a Toyota/ Lexus but coming from a LS powered truck they all felt like a big downgrade.

Figured I’d post here too. Picked this up (actually it was dropped off) last week. 2013, one owner Colorado truck with 46k miles. HSE w/ HD pack. No offroad time yet, but that’ll change soon enough. Feels good to be back in a Rover.

They’re totally different vehicles now. You’ll hate that 70 if you have to drive 6-7 hours on the highway on your way to the trail. The stuff they’re doing in Africa and Australia is on another level than what we do in the states.

Yup this one has +2" rods. Someone has to quit being a nancy, trim the wheelwells and stuff a 34x10.5 under one without any lift rods or other BS. GAP tool running 3/4" more probably all you need for "the look"

Lift questions for a 2002 gmc sierra.

Extended cab 285/70-17 BFG ATs. Plenty of room in there for more tire. I like the rake, and it levels out the rare times I'm carrying anything. 6-700lbs levels it with the Deaver pack. If I had to do the all over again with the goal of running 35s I'd get a 2500HD leaf pack, use the Deaver pack...

Lift questions for a 2002 gmc sierra.

Gearing doesnt depend on your lift. I'm running 33s and wouldn't want to go bigger because of the 3.55 gears I have. I can fit 285/75-17s probably pretty easily... I have deaver mini leaf pack in the back with GMT900 1500 leafs, and a torsion bar crank up front. Lifted about 2-2.5" with a rake...
