    BAD AIM 2003 Z71 Suburban

285/70s fit on my Z71 1500 Silverado without cranking the tbars, just lots of trimming of the plastic wheel well liners.. which coming from a XJ you should be plenty comfortable with! I did end up cranking them two turns for the look and they barely rub now, only reversing at full steering lock.

    Why so few GM Builds?

For every Tacoma build there are 10 domestic trucks (GM/Ford/Dodge) out there bone stock hunting, camping, and working without anyone noticing.

Another "what tire thread"... 15 GMC Yukon Xl....

Interesting experiences. I had AT3s on my Rover and hated them. Front end was always sliding around more, locking up under braking, weak sidewalls offroad.. barely wore though. KO2s on my Silverado now and I can't say enough great things about them.

2012 Chevrolet Colorado V8 - Daily Camper build.

Electronic rear lockers vs. a "limited slip differential"?

LR Disco 2s with trutracs front and rear are pretty serious.

Electronic rear lockers vs. a "limited slip differential"?

Front will pull you up and over what you're stuck on, the rear locked will try and push you into it. If you have enough tire or traction, the rear will do the job; if you don't, you just crab walk around the obstacle. For most people, just a factory rear locker or traction aid is adequate. I'm...

Electronic rear lockers vs. a "limited slip differential"?

Front lockers are always better than rear lockers, in my experience. A rear LSD and front selectable locker is a great DD option, better being selectable front and rear.

    GMT-800 tire selection

I put 285/70-17s on my Z71 Silverado, no level or lift, only had to trim some plastic in the front wheel well. I actually just cranked the torsion bars 2 turns a couple weeks ago and gave it about 1" up front to level it out a little, but that was for aesthetics not to fit the tires. With a 1.5"...

    Audi Q7 for overlanding?

Yeaup. The only thing I'd worry about is tires. Maybe throw a second spare on a nice roof rack setup and you're good to go.

Stock Vehicles in the Wild ???

I went to 33s, because I just couldn't justify putting stock size tires on when I knew one size up would fit with a little plastic trimmage. You're lucky, you have a real suspension up front and actually can lift your truck without breaking your back with tweaked torsion bars. I haven't done...
