$200 5KW Portable Diesel Air Heater

I think he just put one of these: https://www.ebay.com/itm/5KW-12V-W-Silencer-Air-diesel-Heater-For-Motor-home-Trucks-Bus-Car-Van-5000W/254092580069 into a Rigid (Home Depot) medium box. I'll do this later this spring. Looks easy.

HELP! SoCal Gen 2 Montero’s Get Us Seat Covers from CoverKing!

I'd be totally shocked if you can get leather seats stitched for $200 (a few hundred) a pair. Good leather hides alone will cost more than that. Normally around me its $350/$400 (roughly +/-$200 material, +/-$150 labor, +/-$25 heat insert) a bucket including the heat insert. No new foam.

HELP! SoCal Gen 2 Montero’s Get Us Seat Covers from CoverKing!

Local upholstery shops or even private guys do great work. Price will probably be similar or even less than Coverking.

What about those fusible links on the Gen1?

I replaced mine in the '88 with a buzz holder and new fusible link wire. NAPA sells (or sold - it was several years ago) the link wire in various sizes. Just make sure you use the same diameter and length. Its specified in the FSM if I recall correctly.

    Shocks for a Gen1 SWB?

Bilsteins on my Gen 3 were a HUGE improvement over KYB. Its the only one of my trucks that I can do a shock to shock comparison. Check out B6 4600 24-013369 for your Gen 1.

There is a part number for the Gen 1 Bil 4600 front shocks. I know I have it written somewhere.

Tires... I am due for set. What are you rockin' on your Gen 3 Monty?

For sure would have rubbed like 7734 on my '05 without a lift, and probably would also with my current OME mediums.

Tires... I am due for set. What are you rockin' on your Gen 3 Monty?

I had BFG TA A/T KO 235/85R16 on my gen 3 for 35K miles. Certainly the worst size tire for this truck. Made it handle terrible. I can't believe anybody would recommend this size tire for this vehicle.

For sure labor hours at GFC are not free, so OP says 150 hours... Shop rate $60/ hr (that would be cheap), that is $9k in labor. I am sure that GFC has a lot less hours into it.

Tires... I am due for set. What are you rockin' on your Gen 3 Monty?

I don't think these will fit without rubbing a lot on stock wheels and no lift. Maybe? I run 285/75R16 on mine with OME medium springs and still get a little rub occasionally. I understand that the 255 is narrower, but it is slightly taller than a 285. YMMV.

Tires... I am due for set. What are you rockin' on your Gen 3 Monty?

Nothing bigger than 265/75R16 (or 265/75R17) without a lift. I am a fan of BFG A/T KO2. Not sure how the Falkins are with the re-design, but I ran the early model of these tires (Wildpeak A/T) and they were very loud on the Gen 3 chassis.
