Yup, well done. I accidentally sent my key & fob through the hospital laundry with my scrubs and that was that. Bought a new fob online, programmed in two minutes. I bought a blank Mitsu chipped key online and had a local lock shop cut and program it for cheap.

Put front wheel bearings into my Gen III today, a task I've never done before on an independent suspension vehicle. The first one took about 6 hours, the second one took about 45 minutes.

Yup, Desert Sand. I'm really happy with the combo. Somehow it looks a bit lighter than on the website color chip. Works nicely with the leather interior, too.
The whole thing was done easily with less than one gallon. I wasted a bit more than a pint if I recall....

I'm on a budget, too. When I got my tires, I only bought four. The spare is a used all terrain take off that was basically free. It's not in the rotation, just for emergencies, so....
Yeah, I'm not so sure that hanging a couple of shackles on there full-time would make anyone look cool. It's like leaving a high lift jack on the truck when you're just commuting or going to the mall.
If it's just temporary I'd be tempted to bang out something made of wood. Most folks with limited mobility find that getting out of the vehicle is often harder than getting in. You want some very generously-sized steps out there.
Changed my oil and filter the day after I did the same on my wife's Volvo S60. Wow, it sure was nice to have all that room under the Mitsu! Lying on the creeper with the Volvo on ramps I'm almost wedged under there...very claustrophobic! I could camp under the Montero! :)
