Need help sourcing manual hub conversion parts for 1st gen 2002 Taco.

Junkyards keep blowing be off. They have a truck listed but they are always only ever selling the lockouts and "say" they have no other parts which makes no sense to me. No one is buying the CV's and knuckles and leaving the lockout hubs lol. There have been zero trucks in yards within a 2 hour...

Thanks a bunch. I'm not sure why Toyota wants 40 bucks a seal!!!

Need help sourcing manual hub conversion parts for 1st gen 2002 Taco.

Yeah cone washers is what I meant. My bad. Those and the studs are not listed on the 3 online OEM Toyota sites I checked. But they all have very different search protocols. I guess the dealer in person might be able to find it. I wasn't sure if the spacers were all the same between manual hubs...

Need help sourcing manual hub conversion parts for 1st gen 2002 Taco.

Yeah I don't think it comes with the nut on the inboard side of the bearing. I'll just get it and see. I know the nut is available separate if i need it.

Need help sourcing manual hub conversion parts for 1st gen 2002 Taco.

What about all the wheel bearing spacers and snap rings listed in the service pics? Did you just walk into the dealer for the acorn spacers and other hardware? A lot of online places do not list everything. I get 80% of the way through and they don't list a part.

Need help sourcing manual hub conversion parts for 1st gen 2002 Taco.

This is one of the seemingly endless details that keeps me from pulling the trigger. This pic from Rock Auto shows an axle nut for a unit supposedly with manual hubs. There is no axle nut on a manual hub though. The description says axle nut too.

Need help sourcing manual hub conversion parts for 1st gen 2002 Taco.

Thanks all. Yeah I think I would prefer the Aisins as well. My rig doesnt have ABS so I am good to go on that front. I just keep running into these scenarios where I could order most of the parts I need and then either they don't have the part anymore (dealer or whoever, not sure the people I...

Need help sourcing manual hub conversion parts for 1st gen 2002 Taco.

I guess I will keep looking but I never find anything that looks legit or it's second gen Taco stuff. I need to keep the vehicle drivable enough to move off of a hoist during a bunch of work so I want extra knuckles to do everything off of the vehicle if possible.

Need help sourcing manual hub conversion parts for 1st gen 2002 Taco.

Hello. I am having trouble sourcing parts for the conversion. There are hardly ever Tacos in Detroit area yards and when they are they have not been manual hubs. Part searches always result in the yard either just blowing me off or telling me they don't have all the parts, which I have trouble...

2WD in Snow - Need advice

Buy snow tires first. Everything else should be your 2nd or 3rd step. Off road tires all suck in snow compared to real winter tires. It's not even close.

Nevada Strip AKA Gold Butte National Monument

Getting ready to read the report as it sounds great. What are the images being hosted from? Can't see them at work and I've never had this issue before so I am curious. *Edit I can see pics on a dozen other threads that seem to be both uploaded and hosted so I am guessing this is adult content...

Rotopax - Is there something better I should be using?

I personally would try to get real sceptor cans if you can and if you can't just metal jerricans. Rotopax cost so much money and while the low profile is nice only holding 4 or 8 gallons is kind of lame.

Low profile RTT mount with roof mounted batwing

Depends on you goals. If you want to stand upright under your Batwing and have rain slope away from the vehicle it will have to be mounted higher than the RTT anyways. I have my RTT and Batwing on a Thule bed rack but had to use big L brackets to raise up the height of the awning. At the same...

    Rhino-Rack BatWing Review/Write Up

An update to my earlier post #72. I contacted Rhinorack and after discussing my issues got a new awning sent to me free of charge. That is pretty great customer service. I have the new bag now also. After 2 weeks of rain wind and snow melt sitting installed on the vehicle I set it up inside a...

Open Differentials vs. Traction Control vs. Lockers

Should have specified helical gear LSD. My bad One thing some people forget with ARB's is it is hard to use them and turn at the same time. Being able to turn with pseudo oped diffs that only lock when you are losing traction can be pretty handy. I drove the Morrison Jeep trail in my truck and...

Open Differentials vs. Traction Control vs. Lockers

I have torsen LSDs in three vehicles. I really like them in snowy and overlanding type use. All three of mine respond to left foot braking and or parking brake use to extend the upper limits of performance. I like that they have always predictable performance. Lockers would be nice sometimes but...

    Next generation snatch block

Possibly true. I have only seen it tested in ridiculously clean environments with no mud or grit on anything. Maybe even that would have no effect. But that is how people are testing it.
