I suspect weight is not too big of a concern, fiberglass molded components are fairly strong when the weight is properly distributed. Awnings that pivot off one corner put huge stresses on a single point. Sent from my Passport using Tapatalk 2

I don't know this from experience, but many people say that the tail gate gets all stone chipped if you drive around with it down, plus I don't think the Ram has the steps built into the tail gate, so you will need a step ladder or stool. Sent from my Passport using Tapatalk 2
