I'm looking for a good and cheap hand pump to deal with the PSI in my Adventure Trailers Chaser air bags. I've used on-board air...but the PSI is so touchy in the trailer that using a compressor is a PITA. One sides leaks a little bit too and I haven't had a chance to "chase" it down...so a hand...
This week I finished up the wiring at the rear bumper between the new jack and the new run. Here is the Chaser attached for a test fit:
It still had some extensions in the tongue from an earlier project and sat a little too high. So I removed the extensions, switched out the stinger for a...
Last weekend I installed most of the trailer wiring. There were two 7-pin jacks under the rear bumper, but they were hobbled together with wire nuts and silicone. I didn't even check to see if they worked. After removing them, I talked my brother-in-law into cutting the template for my new...
I'm in the process of building my van now (nothing fancy). Wish there was more van activity on here so that I could steal some good ideas for layout and cabinetry.
I'm not sure about the Jeep, but this is the diagram that I have used for all my rigs (so they match):
Hasn't lead me wrong yet. To the best of my knowledge...the above trailer plug configuration is considered "standard". I would get a test light and test each pin on the vehicle side.
If that...
I bought a driver-side 270 degree awning for the Jeep because of the direction of the rear door swing (as mentioned above). It worked. Now the awing is being moved to a van, and the sliding door is on the passenger side. Bummer. To be fair the awning isn't long enough to cover the sliding door...
Oh, and last weekend I installed the Jeep Kitchen in the van. Just temporary. Once I get the parts and build the cabinetry to use a Snow Peak IGT, Snow Peak stove, and
Snow Peak grill on a 48 inch of locking drawer slides, the Jeep Kitchen will be sold. Didn't get pictures of that yet, but I...
I ran the National Luna 6 GG wires up to the battery. But, I had run them to length in the Jeep...saved the extra. The van needs the extra, so I had some splicing to do. I use butt connectors to hold the wires in line, solder them heavily, heat-shrink them, then cover the entire wire with wire...
Then it was time to install it. I picked a location that will be under the bed/couch...when the cabinetry is done. Drilled a hole through the floor and spent an hour snaking wired through the frame and body:
After some careful thinking, I drilled a hole from the inside of the van to make sure...
The battery system from the Jeep was installed today. I took a few pictures.
I decided to mount the NOCO charger to the side of the National Luna Battery Pack:
Shot some screws through it to mark the locations:
Then bolted it up with 10/24 1 inch stainless bolts (which will clear the...
Good point, and I had forgotten about the FJ. When I bought my Jeep in 2007 it was a close call between a Wrangler or an FJ. I thought the FJ was better looking, fairly new at the time, and hey....it was a reliable Toyota!
But, the top didn't come off. Deal breaker for me. If the FJ would have...
I have been using some of the SP iron stakes for this summer. They are worth every penny. I bent a couple after hammering them into some really hard ground...but they just bend back (with the help of a hard spot and a hammer).
Which set do you mean? I'm not familiar with a Capp set, but I have the Barista set and use it every day, at home and at camp. Their little grinder is the least-messy way I've found to grind coffee (as far as grinds being all over the counter when you are done).
Ha! That's the vanity plate on the Jeep. Somebody else had already taken the correct spelling of it. Rumor has it that she is a stripper in Helena.
I finished stripping all the overland gear from the Jeep this weekend. She is indeed Topliss again. This weekend I will start to install some of...
I went camping last night in the Jeep. Final trip. The drive back was white-knuckled terror due to bad roads and all the weight on the roof.
So, I started pulling gear out of the Jeep when I got home and moving it over to the van. Time to commit. Front Runner sent me a list of parts that I will...
