    Trailer Options for 37” Tires?

I'm pretty sure my Adventure Trailers Chaser would take 37s. Still running stock JK tires on it though, so can't be sure.

    Favorite Modification?

I bought a camp table that is the perfect size to put in the vestibule on my trailer RTT. It has been a great add-on and it's nice to avoid setting stuff in the dirt. That being said, my favorite mod was to put a different RTT on the tow vehicle and leave the trailer at home.

Propex HS2000 installation discussion - ducting

Thank you sir. I had no idea these existed. I wouldn't mind putting holes in the side of the JK top. They are cheap and have multiple sizes. come in black too! I could permanently mount the Propex inside and pick ports large enough to allow for supple, return, and the propane hose to run...

Propex HS2000 installation discussion - ducting

LOL, yup. The idea has given me pause. It would be wicked cool to pop up the tent, plug in the propane, and turn on the thermostat though.

Propex HS2000 installation discussion - ducting

I have several of each. This is my "quick and dirty" camping rig for Friday night trips after work. I'm not a big fan of pulling either trailer on snow or ice. This duct looks like it shrinks up in size, and might hold up again some rain. But my god...the price!

Propex HS2000 installation discussion - ducting

Well, that was a typo. I meant 25ºF :). It keeps it nice and warm, but only when it's burning gas. The minutes before and after pretty much undo the heating effect. I think that having a return would dramatically reduce the cycling frequency. I have considered installing the Propex in the...

Propex HS2000 installation discussion - ducting

Hi All, I have been using a portable Propex HS2000 to heat two RTTs for about a year now. This is my first winter with it. This spring and summer, I've simply run the supplied hot-air duct into the tent (through a zippered opening) and let the heater draw return air from the outside... and it...

    Possible on a 2dr?

If you are worried about losing the spare, they make anti-theft bolts you can install (that need some sort of key). As for the rack above the spare, I haven't kept anything up there. My intention was to have a place to carry one night's worth of fire wood...and have a place to set the heater...

2-Door JK JeepKitchen - AT Chaser - Globetrotter - National Luna build thread

Lately I've been working myself up into backpacking...again. Specifically, winter backpacking. All that winter camping gear looks awesome, but expensive. So, since I have several different down backpacking three-season quilts I slept in the RTT for a night with no heat while nesting a 20º...

Genesis Duel Battery, Duel Odyssey Batteries and a NOCO Genius onboard charger.

I recently put a 2-bank NOCO in my JK and took some pictures for my build thread. Might give you some ideas on mounting, etc. It's worked out well. I get home and plug in the Jeep. Don't have to worry about the batteries anymore. Last weekend I ran the tent heater while it was on shore power...

    Favorite car camping sleeping bag

I use one of three down backpacking quilts in my RTT (which is car-camping after all). My favorite so far is the JacksRBetter Katahdin . But, I slept in the tent last night and though it only dropped to 25ºF, it is nearing it's limit for me (despite being a "four-season quilt"). When it's cold...

    How good are Subarus?

Oh... and one more thought. I put my James Baroud Space RTT on the Suby for one summer. New Subys handle a roof top tent VERY WELL. The RTT took the MPG to 26 to 25 at 70 MPH. That is very good. This tent weighs about 150 lbs. when loaded with sleeping gear. You will be able to tell that the...

    How good are Subarus?

I've done extensive research on "pimping" my 2016 3.6R Outback. So far, I haven't changed anything with the exception of adding some roof bars and a 7-pin towing setup with trailer brake. By the way, our dealer wouldn't install a 7-pin setup. Had to do it myself. There are multiple body lifts...

    James Baroud Tent modifications?

Condensation mats Hi Rin, I'm thinking about ordering an anti-condensation mat from you for my Space. Can you provide some details? How thick are they? Can you provide any pictures that are better then the Baroud site? There isn't much info on the interwebs. Thanks.

    Exped Megamat duo in Baroud?

Never mind yall. I opened the tent to measure. Turns out there is only 45 inches between the mechanisms, and 77 long would be a very tight fit. MegaMat Duo won't work. :(

    Exped Megamat duo in Baroud?

Hi All, Has anyone successfully put a Megamat duo in a Baround clamshell? I have an "Espace", but I think the footprints are pretty much the same for Baroud's (except the XL models). I'm wondering about a couple of things. First, will the duo clear the scissor mechanisms in a Baroud? And...

Leaving annex attached while folding up tent?

Same here. I have a Globetrotter and leave the annex attached. But, it takes up just enough room that I had to cut down on the amount of bedding that I kept in the tent. Now days I use the globetrotter for a private, concealed bathroom and do not sleep in that tent, so no bedding is necessary...

    How good are Subarus?

Agreed. But, I'm not talking about hardcore roads. I'm talking about unknown roads. if you are out to explore (meaning that you aren't familiar with today's road), it sucks when you have to turn around and pick another road, just because one large rock is between two trees, and you can't go...

    Overland trailer in the snow?

I am also interested in this. Will be pulling around a Chaser with a 2-door JK this fall in the snow, but the thought makes me nervous. Would it be useful to have beadlocks and KM2s on a trailer to air down?

2-Door JK JeepKitchen - AT Chaser - Globetrotter - National Luna build thread

Regrets? Naw, I like it, and people keep telling me that it looks cool (in which case I tell them it's a keg). But, the part I like the most is the quick-release fittings. I'm told that it won't rust so it's been outside for a couple of months. But, a standard 20 lb steel tank is about $30.00. I...
