Group 31 true deep cycle for Jeep JK starter battery to combine with NL Power Pack?

Hi, Thanks for the input. What's an LVD? That's a new term in my research. I though it was very important to match the batteries. Battery stuff is confusing! :)

Group 31 true deep cycle for Jeep JK starter battery to combine with NL Power Pack?

Hi, I know that there is another thread on the forum where a fellow installed a group 31 battery in a Jeep JK, but my intention is a little different and I wanted some experienced advice. Currently, I have a "standard" lead-acid starter battery in the JK and a National Luna Power Pack in the...

    How good are Subarus?

I bought a 2016 Outback with the intention of turning it into my camping/exploring rig. I had plans to rebuild the entire rear of the car (drawers, storage, 12V, etc.) like another fellow on the forum did. Put the RTT on it, went on my first week long trip, then changed my mind. I put the RTT...

    Possible on a 2dr?

A 2-door can be done. But, I only go alone in it, and have dedicated it to camping/exploring only. Definitely not a daily driver anymore.

Thinking of upgrading to a James Baroud Extreme from a CVT Bachelor

Sorry about hijacking the thread, but the OP might be interested in all these details if he is thinking about buying a Baroud. When I need to close, I pile the bedding and stuff as uniformly as possible in the center and try to leave about 8 inches of clearance all the way around to allow the...

Thinking of upgrading to a James Baroud Extreme from a CVT Bachelor

It makes it a little tougher to close, but you can leave it in all the time. My Baroud is completely packed with pillows N such (and I mean FULL)...but I can still add the isothermic kit and close the lid. If you are the kind of person that has a pillow or two and a sleeping bag I would imaging...

Thinking of upgrading to a James Baroud Extreme from a CVT Bachelor

Yeah...my comment may have been a little misleading, the "chemical smell" might be better described as "glue and plastic". It isn't bad, and it seems to be less noticeable every month, but it's still in there almost two years later. The smell certainly isn't a deal-breaker. It's an awesome tent...

2-Door JK JeepKitchen - AT Chaser - Globetrotter - National Luna build thread

The Chaser in action - and yes - more beer happened A family trip last year. The local-yocal-family-pals expressed concerns that I might "have rocks in my head" when they checked out the trailer:

2-Door JK JeepKitchen - AT Chaser - Globetrotter - National Luna build thread

Stuff I missed - the fridge Thanks sir. It's taken years for me to wrangle the money together. One-part-at-a-time. Here are some parts of other posts I've done, consolidated into this thread. Won't be much info...just pictures today. Some fridge stuff. I think this is a National Luna 52. Can't...

Thinking of upgrading to a James Baroud Extreme from a CVT Bachelor

Well, I have an Eezi-Awn Globetrotter (a folding trailer RTT) and a Baroud Space, which is shaped like the Extreme. I really like the Space because it's easy to setup....and fairly easy to put away. It will hold more bedding than the Eezi-Awn (because of the cover-size-inadequacy on the Eezi)...

    12 volt heater thoughts?

I bought a Propex last winter with the intention of permanently installing it my off-road trailer. but, a forum member bought the new "updated" Adventure Trailers toolbox for his Propex, and sold his older, original-design box to me at a very good price. A couple of trips to the hardware store...

    RTT vs Popup Camper

We have been struggling with this for years and finally wound up with a Jeep/RTT setup for when I go alone, and a 13 foot Scamp camper trailer for when she comes with (mainly family campouts) that the Jeep will pull (just barely). The trailer is just under 2000 lbs loaded. I get to play with my...

2-Door JK JeepKitchen - AT Chaser - Globetrotter - National Luna build thread

Awning continued Some mounting: Reassembly and test: And...the most important part of the day...the beer opener: Not sure what's next. I think I will order a three-bank Noco charger next week. I'm tired of trying to keep the batteries topped off and I think the Noco will solve the issue...

Fiamma F35 Pro awning, beer opener Yesterday I received a set of Frontrunner Slimline II "standard" brackets, so I installed a Fiamma F35 Pro that I had laying around. It's my first awning (except for camper trailers), so it will be a good test to see what I want/need in an awning. The...

    Towing Electrical Connector Recommendation

7-pin I have put a couple of different flavors in several rigs. The last one was the Subaru, and I really liked it: https://www.etrailer.com/Custom-Fit-Vehicle-Wiring/Hopkins/HM40975-11998.html I used the metal mounting bracket as a template to cut a hole in the Suby bumper. Worked out well...

    Wind resistant wide brim hats

Tilly all the way. Buy it at a store (our REI carries lots of sizes) and get it to fit just snug enough for wind resistance. Almost indestructible. Dipping it in water will seriously cool you off mid-summer too.

Expo Refrigerators when not on a trip

Beer fridge here. We keep ours in the corner of the kitchen. Biggest advantage for us is that it's very fast and easy to dilute the beer supply with whatever food you want from the fridge and as you bring groceries home....camping stuff straight into the fridge. Also brings everything down to...
