My restoration to a Disco Trek Discovery

That one was my favorite- still love the Greg Davis rear bumper!! I had it at the dealer some years back, and pulled in behind a G4, parked, and another G4 pulled in behind me- lots of orange in one place!! I would love to get them all back here for a reunion shot... #5 heads to paint today!!

Getting ready for a trip to Mexico

I have done that trip a couple times, and Christian is spot on!! For that time frame- fly/drive. If you drive, the section from Brownsville south is very nice until the 'elbow' where you turn east, but after that concentration of people, aka metropolis, the drive along the southern gulf is...

Like A Moth To The Flame- My New LR3

Bill- you sure you aren't from Marshville?? I thought that was jargon amongst the local beef!! Doc- there is a set of those on Ebay in Dillon, Co, but he won't ship- Tim could probably snag them and get them to you, as they are cheap for tires/wheels... what color is yours? Did you flip that LC...

Soon To Be Owner of H3T Alpha

Not crazy about the paint, but that little blower is sweet!! And I doubt seriously the truck has ever been dirty- very nice score!!

    Whats this series worth?

It is a slippery slope for sure. The wiper motors can fetch $400 if good finish and working. Now you start making a little money, and the addiction is terminal- ask me how I know?! Avoid the resto temptation for sure, as it can get crazy as seen from the wiper scenario... The little bits are the...

My restoration to a Disco Trek Discovery

Me too- even Ford SD's do the same thing- asymmetrical illusions drive us engineers batty!!

My restoration to a Disco Trek Discovery

The SG has 35's- saw it today when picking up the TReK- runs/rides nice David!! Might have to start thinking gears and lockers next ;-)

My restoration to a Disco Trek Discovery

another good point to note- the TReK is uncut in the wheel wells, while the SG is. Look at the distance from the top of the flair to the body crease- especially the rear. This is another reason D-IIs look to be out of level with a higher gap in the front than the rear... the wheel well itself is...

My restoration to a Disco Trek Discovery

part of the illusion is being tail light/high after trimming and no bumper... Nothing a few hundred pounds of armor and supplies can't cure ;-) The D-II behind it is higher yet.

    LR3 Gear sale

Hey Justin, checked TFs site but no pics. How much do the sliders cover under the sills- similar to D-II, or more to include the air tank/comp?

    130 pic up truck

Very well done!! I have a 130 with a cube on the back, which i do not care for, and a spare 110 Hicap tub. I have yet to start on the tub as I was a bit unsure which way to proceed, and concerned about the relatively short bed. Had not considered going vertical on the sides- thanks for some...

Tire Size Question for an 04 DII on stock 18in alloys

Just an aside as I am a day late- avoid P rated tires for anything beyond highway. And another option that I run on my LR3 is 265/70-18 for little taller thinner tire, which also yields a touch better fuel economy...

    Would really like stock tires!!

Not worth the cost of shipping both sets, but I have a near new set of 245s BFG commercial tires, would sell reasonably, and not too bad to ship ifwe just label each tire, which I have done many times. PM if interested.

LR3 does NOT = mall crawler.

From my experience, it all depends on the driver, and the application of the vehicle. A few years ago, me and my brother drove a 130 to Brownsville, Tx from NC. Then on to Guatemala, Belize, and back. We did the same trip years ago on motorcycles, yet I digress... Anyway, the Tdi 130 did...

    Slider/ Rocker Panel Protection for a 2010 F-250

I had the same problems, and ended up going the retractable step route. It drops down when the door opens, allowing kids and wifes easy access. While it doesn't protect the rockers, it does get up out of the way and provides much more clearance. Here is a pic of my F-250 with the steps...

My restoration to a Disco Trek Discovery

Thanks Dendy- and David as well!! I got to see the truck the other day retrieving rims for paint and tires while on the rack at RTE. She is sweet, and woefully makes me want one or two of my old TReKs back:-) Glad to see you on here David- great site for sure, and good guys with lots of...
