The payload on new trucks includes people, 4 people at 150# is 600# less camper that you can haul.

North Star popups are 7' wide, which is narrower than many, but they dont show up around here used too often, not sure about Texas. If you really need to stay the same width as the truck, you may be stuck with just a cap with a sleep platform on top of drawers.

Just took another look at 2014 f150, a 2wd reg cab can have 3100# payload, that's 700 more than my 12 Ram 2500 crew 4x4
