    Considering a 2005 Tahoe Z71.

I've driven my $4k Ford on several round trips from: Colorado to Florida, Colorado to Louisiana, Colorado to Wisconsin, Colorado to Wyoming (taking 4 days worth of back roads) and Colorado to Kentucky. Plus served as a daily driver. 48k miles in total that I've put on it. It's got more than...

    Considering a 2005 Tahoe Z71.

My point was if you go with a Tahoe you'll NEED to tow.

Exactly. Unless you plan on towing to haul the gear.

The Snorkel's relevance to North American overlanding

Calling someone out for calling you a name only to call them a child in return. And you said he lost credibility? This thread has done a few laps around the toilet bowl now.

    Optimizing suspension for washboard?

No video, but I ran the Colorado BDR north of I-70 at 15 psi. Most of it was dirt roads- some of it was washboard. Lots of it was done at 50+ mph.

The Snorkel's relevance to North American overlanding

Snorkels are sooooooooo 2012. In 2017, everyone had trailers at Overland Exp. In 2018, who knows what the rage will be. Only the cool kids know ahead of time.

    Optimizing suspension for washboard?

Next time, try putting it in 4hi. Seems smoother to me. Can't explain it.

The Snorkel's relevance to North American overlanding

Prior to my snorkel, my filter would have significant dust accumulated after a couple day wheeling trips- maybe 30 miles total on dirt. I think most of the dust sucked in was churned up by my own front right tire. After the snorkel, the filter stays SIGNIFICANTLY cleaner. Kokopelli Trail, Rim...

    Off Road Expo East Surprise

I checked out a new Colorado ZR2 today in the parking lot at work and before I read this I came away thinking it reminded me of the Hummer truck H3 thing. Regarding the OP's concern: what exactly do you need to "build" an expo rig? Almost any vehicle in stock form is quite capable of handling...

The Grand Expedition Colorado to Alaska to Baja...

All your pictures and stories are great. For most of us, a week long trip is about all we can muster due to our other obligations and commitments that keep us grounded. A week really isn't that long- I could probably wear the same underwear for a week. We pack all the food and supplies we need...

    Colorado Diesel getting started

You said you wanted it to open over the tailgate for shade while at the tailgate. But how tall are you? I'd have to crouch down if I was under this as shown.

Earlier this week, yes. Plus tomorrow is Hot Dog Day. I've got a hot dog roller that cooks a pack at a time. We typically go through 40-50 hot dogs. We make the whole floor smell like a 7-11. It's pretty awesome.
