    Flashlights

you hold down for a moment to go to red, much better than scrolling, but not quite as good as a plain "night mode" switch would be

    Flashlights

the Petzl Zippka Plus2 is my favorite light and happens to be a headlamp. i love the fact that it takes up no room yet can be a headlamp, wristlamp, attach to backpack straps on your chest, or even attach to tree limbs or tent poles. it also has a red mode for night vision. a more taditional...

Which WJ Bumper? ARB vs TrailReady vs LSR

not that i know of this is what a friend did for me to help distribute the force of light impacts: http://www.offroadpassport.com/forum/showpost.php?p=5129&postcount=142 it has worked so far - a couple of times, i have come down gently on a rock that would have previously trashed the area and...

Which WJ Bumper? ARB vs TrailReady vs LSR

i like iceland and LSR, but would go LSR due to the fact that it has integrated "radiator support" protection, which is a very weak and vulnerable area on our WJ's... the iceland leaves this area unprotected. LSR: Iceland Offroad (faintly you can see the radiator support below the bumper)...

Top Reasons Why Your Wife/Girlfriend or Family Do Not Go On Trips with You?

GF goes a lot actually, but some things she won't do: - no trips longer than 3 days without a shower (problem solved now that i have on-board-shower!) - no trips where you have to poo in a bag and bring it with you (canyonlands, the rubicon, mojave rd, etc) - hardly ever any...

    Cabelas vs. Kamp-Rite Tent Cots

don't have mine here to measure right now, but the info on this page sounds pretty accurate for "The Oversize" anyway: http://store.kamprite.com/catalog/Kamp-Rite-Oversize-TentCot-p-16146.html

    Got an XJ

when i had an 01 XJ, i had a clunk when stopping that sounded like it came from mid-rear, turned out to be a deteriorated transmission mount. you may already know about it, but after you get the tire size you want on there, just swap the little plastic gear in the speedo pickup to get it...

    Muddy Maze District Trip

Last year it was a little warm, in the 80's. So this year, we moved the trip to 2 weeks later hoping for just slightly lower temps! but it was great to see the same scenery wet, completely different. i really like the desert like that, everything has more contrast.

    Cabelas vs. Kamp-Rite Tent Cots

still loving the tent-cot after quite a few trips! the therm-a-rest in place of the original hard foam pad has worked well. the whole thing is actually bigger than any other cot i've had and so i can really sprawl out and sleep pretty well. as a side sleeper, whatever arm is on the bottom...
