field tested this past week in utah, one hose popped off the heat exchanger after first person's shower while it was just sitting idle with pressure - put it back on and tightened down hose clamp and everything lasted for 2 more showers without problem. the braided pvc was very soft and that's...

Minimizing the kit and packing it efficiently

i have yet to identify only the needed sockets/wrenches for my vehicle, so i still have an entire kit.. however changing everything to the OTT Socket Holders instead of the socket set's original blow-molded plastic case cut it's amount of storage space in HALF! (then those are in my pelican case...

1 - yes, but i didn't bother to look it up till just now - i am in fact exceeding the service rating of clear PVC which appears to be 120-140* depending on where you look! however the melting point is extremely high, so i don't think it'll burst, maybe just not be drinkable-safe. PEX was...

    Which Air Hose for OBA

i tried a couple things, ended up using 1/4" black DOT-Approved Air Brake Line from Napa with compression fittings. unlike my previous attempts involving hose clamps and rubber/pvc lines... no leaks and clean/simple connections. oh and like an other poster, i did use push lock quick connects...

Where to mount a Spot Messenger??

in a RAM Mount cradle, next to the gaggle of other electronics: an even on the second gen you are supposed to give it a clear view of the sky and have it laying as flat as possible since it uses a basic patch GPS antenna. the second gen is supposed to work much better in less than those...

long winded writeup for on-board-hot-shower system

i found the original thread from the guy who i think was the first to incorporate a thermostatic mixing valve, it was "unwiredadventures' on this forum. i looked at so many threads on so many forums before doing my setup - i couldn't remember who it was. anyway, just wanted to give credit to him...

    Post your tents

that picture was taken right as the last rays of the sun were disappearing. it's was with a point-n-shoot camera, a panasonic, with a "scene" mode that does a 60 second "night-scene" exposure. when i got the camera it listed that it could do exposure from xx up to 60 seconds, one of the reasons...

thanks, in my full writeup i mention that i will have a hinged door covering the whole area, but i want to test the system out some before i spend any more effort on anything. need to keep dust and bugs out, and also keep random people from playing with it in parking lots. one day when i have a...

    Post up your drawer/storage system

finished my rear shelf system. the point is to allow me access to the spare tire and the old spare compartment easily when the jeep is loaded with camping gear without having to unload everything. loaded up with average daily-driver/trail-rig junk: the spare slides out when needed, and i...

i think the shurflo classic is rated for "2 fixtures"... which i'm not sure how they determine that rating... i.e. does it provide enough flow for 2 faucets on at the same time? or what? anyway, i think i't would be fine for you, i have the same plan eventually (faucet at the back of the rig)...

    CB Radio ideas

i've seen 3 of the cobras die in my local club. they are kinda ugly and bulky, but thats just opinion. the midland's cord is more flexible and stays coiled better, it is very sleek and compact and i've never heard of anyone having any problems with them, not to mention the flexibility of running...
