    Better Starlink Mini travel cases?

A simple laptop bag should be plenty I think, for something that lives out in the weather. They cost only $230 now, so not that precious.

Earthcruiser doesn't have many on their Core. But it will depend on how strong and stiff your subframe and springs are, I'd think.

    Wiring and mounting invertor?

Your Bluetti has a 1800W inverter, which would be 150A at 12V. You'll need a whole new system for 5000W.

Two weeks for me (1 person) is 9 gal drinking, 5 gal washing. I bury my poop and most of my piss. The washing water evaporates shortly after it hits the ground.

Actual off road capability of composite campers.

^If you are going to be fairly light, then I think there are good reasons to use LT tires. SS rims can be bought with a bead for either LT or military. If you are on the verge of getting stuck, then airing down is your best bet. Best to have a system for airing down and back up again with...

Certainly. Especially true when there are two of you and your trips are long term. Based on my guess by scaling your photo, you have ~20-22" vertical in that sleeping berth... without a mattress. Is that about right? You keep bashing the use of a pickup chassis, but one advantage they have is a...

FYI low deck height flatbed with good tire clearance

Mine is almost 10" above the bed mounts and tire, and I can just make it rub with full articulation, axle on the bumpstop, with 35s. I made an articulating bed too, so that's part of it. If I puts 37s on it, I'll get some generic sumos to make the bump taller.

If you were young, I think the lack of space for "extracurricular activities" would be a big negative as well... YMMV.

The 4 stepper is probably what you want. 9" vertical per step, so would be "perfect" with a 45" deck height. It's also good to have it run along the box too, so you can add some handles. Only $180 at Tractor Supply https://www.tractorsupply.com/tsc/product/xtend-climb-stable-step-wide-step

FYI low deck height flatbed with good tire clearance

It's the sort of bed I wish was standard on pickups. No wasted space, and you still get a low deck height... and you can put storage boxes above and below the bed with a typical slide in.

    Springs F 350

I'm sure shocks can help, but getting rid of the bags and overload helped a lot. My truck porpoised badly with stock shocks and empty. With better shocks and empty, it improved a little. With the camper and airbags at 30 psi it was the worst. With 5 leafs added (8 on each side now), and...

If you have the 6.6L GM gas, then you probably have 170A, and can run 80A, and that would charge around half of your capacity. How much in solar panels do you have and what are you using electricity for?

    Springs F 350

Which year and model do you have, how many miles, and what do the springs look like? I've exchanged a 4 leaf pack (Boise Spring) for the single overload last fall, and just added an additional long leaf (TruckSpring). The 4 leaf pack matches the other leafs, so I have no overload now, and it's...

Tire Load Rating at Lower Tire Pressures vs. Axle Rating: A Case for "E" Load

    changing tire and wheel size

There is a lot of "lore" around this topic. Basically you have more suspension travel in the tire itself before you bottom out on the rim... 1/2" more in a 17" vs 18". Since 35s are generally ~34.6" tall, the 17 would have ~8.8" of travel and the 18 would have ~8.3". The ride will have a lot...

School me on the subject of dc dc charging at 12v system.

Chatgpt agrees. Electrical load has a negligible effect on the wear of brushes or any other components of an alternator, so long as temperature is within spec. Because my truck has a tow package, it probably has a 170A alternator.

Cattle and sheep graze and poop and piss all over NF and BLM. Just to put it in perspective. Yes, anything edible that you dump on the ground could attract critters. Bees and wasps are drawn to water if you are in a dry climate.

Apparently it is ok on BLM and NF land if you are dispersed camping. Maybe dig a hole and slowly trickle so it seeps into the ground, then fill it back up? I've never seen a BLM ranger in my life, even with 1000s of days camping on that land...

Tire Load Rating at Lower Tire Pressures vs. Axle Rating: A Case for "E" Load

The high speed test sets load and psi, and varies speed (increasing). Temperature is usually the limiting factor at ~200F as the rubber compounds deteriorate in performance above that. The main thing generating heat is hysteresis in the sidewalls and tread where it meets the ground. So you...
