Well keep in mind that the repeater has a much better range than your handheld. So even though you can receive, there's no guarantee of transmit even with a good battery. With that said batteries have definitely gotten me before as well!

Sorry for starting a new thread. I figured I'd take the initiative here to help Mark while he's out since I found a good IRLP node that I can use. I didn't see anyone else sign up for net control, so I'll give it a try. If I'm mistaken PLEASE let me know. I don't want to step on any toes...

So topic mexico, anyone else interested? I don't have a lot of experience with that, but I'd love to hear from those that do!

I've found a pretty good stable IRLP node and spoken with the node owner. So I should be there. I'm fine with an informal net, but if we need a net control op I could give it a shot as long as everyone is patient with me. Sharing Mexico expo stories sounds like a good topic. =) Fast recovery...
