    Camper box weight

Basic durable panel construction is typically ~7.5 kg/m^2. The stuff you carry is where the weight can be an issue. Is it illegal for you to drive it when over the registered weight?

E350 Cutaway 4x4 w/ DIY Pop-Top Composite Camper Box (Build Thread)

The bump stop should be the thing limiting movement unless the load is quite light for your springs, but you can probably extrapolate to a fully loaded condition well enough. Do you have photos or videos of the Ujoint test? I have ~7" of clearance between the top of my tire and the bottom of...

Northern Lite 610 for 1/2 Ton PU

It's true even of small and light campers, that may weigh <1000 lbs when empty and dry, but once you add all your stuff and doodads and upgrades and armor, and load it for extended camping, you now have added >3,000 lbs on your truck and are 1,500-2,000 lbs over GVWR. There is a good article on...

Their "claim" is regarding the 1st part, not the 2nd. Your payload sticker isn't their concern... or even yours unless you want it to be.

LiFePO4 battery experiences and adventures! Power Queen and GoKWh

I found a page where another person had a similar issue with a Power Queen battery. Lots of good info there: https://marinehowto.com/critical-lifepo4-data/ This isn't just a Power Queen issue either, in case you were wondering. Here it's happening to a Weize...

Rear sway bar who's using them?

Since my last post on this thread I installed Ironman FC Pro shocks (which have high digressive damping), and removed the front swaybar (never had a rear). Still handles great, even with a camper.

    Scout vs Aterra

Scout looks like it has the same edge construction as a Canadian company (CPT). If that's true there would be a little but not much. I do think that in a small camper, the ventilation required causes diminishing returns with insulation... unless you also have a heat-exchange ventilator. The...

LiFePO4 battery experiences and adventures! Power Queen and GoKWh

I do apologize for the length. It looked a lot smaller in my text editing program... Now you might have some idea why I've never made a build thread... my part alone would have been 100+ pages, and that still would have just scratched the surface... :ROFLMAO: Good luck with testing. It isn't...

    Scout vs Aterra

Doesn't Scout have a foam core? That should be better than the honeycomb that the Aterra has. I think a flatbed is a good idea for the Scout, also... with external storage. Below is a 8' camper (Kenai) on the 6.5' bed truck, to give you an idea. I like the simplicity and low price of the Scout...

LiFePO4 battery experiences and adventures! Power Queen and GoKWh

My experience with the Power Queen battery was not so simple. I used a little hobby charger I've had for a few years to charge it. I discovered this would only charge at ~4A so it was a slow process. To discharge I hooked the battery up to a small 12V-110AC inverter, a Kill-A-Watt, and a 250W...

LiFePO4 battery experiences and adventures! Power Queen and GoKWh

Oddly, I got a message a few days later from Steve at Lightning-Energy, wanting to give me a free battery of the same size, a GoKWh brand with the stipulation that I post about my experiences with it online. I like free stuff, and have a couple forums I post on regularly, so why not? I figured...

LiFePO4 battery experiences and adventures! Power Queen and GoKWh

Summary: Test your batteries! One of these performed like it should and the other did not. If you buy from Amazon or a similar retailer (a good idea!), you typically have 30 days to return it. I also suspect that many of these batteries are defective out of the box, and that the glowing reviews...

3.3l ford f150 vs 3.6l ram 1500, which would you rather own?

No, it's from the Ram Forum link regarding the 3.6L. Lots of discussion about it there.

    Dextero Walmart tire review

They used torque wrenches on mine when they balanced them. Took them forever, though... definitely got the impression that they were clueless. And I guess they ran out of stick-on weights and put a couple clip-ons on my aluminum rims.

    Dextero Walmart tire review

S speed rated for E load is pretty good. 2 ply sidewall. The company is based in Singapore but I doubt they are made there. Is a country of origin listed?

Ram 1500 build ... should I even bother?

I started sleeping inside my vehicle after I heard large animals shuffling about in FL (alligators, maybe). I wasn't in a tent though, just sleeping in a bag on the ground. For the other things you mentioned, a ground tent would keep them out, too.

https://www.ramforum.com/threads/ram-3-6-for-my-long-term-first-truck-how-is-the-reliability-and-overall-satisfaction.174868/ "The engine is relatively complex, 4 camshafts, 24 valves, all cams have cam phasers. The transmission has a heater and a cooler so the mechanic has to be up-to-date...

3.3l ford f150 vs 3.6l ram 1500, which would you rather own?

I figured it was limited slip based on them calling it "Anti-Spin Differential Rear Axle". But clicking on "more info" gives: "The rear differential can be locked with an electronic actuator so both rear wheels receive equal torque all the time for enhanced traction."
