Common problem. Many Pajero owners have talked about it. Solutions: worn out trans mount (replace it) - others have remove the vibration dampener block attached the the rear of the tcase (it magnifies the vibrations).
There are tons of bushings in this truck. The body is not isolated from...
Good question. I have no idea. Worked fine up until 6 months ago or so.... I'll spend the time to upload pictures to my server and copy / paste the links sometime. Too much hassle to deal with right now.
Sorry for the slow updates...the portal doesn't accept pic uploads. Anyhow, I'll update it eventually. There are a bunch of pics and more current stuff here: http://gitout.com/showthread.php?1559-Gitout-com-Ultimate-Expedition-Build-2003-Mitsubishi-Montero-Limited
I'm putting together bolts...
Wow, your bumper is in great shape still. It needs more trail time. I wouldn't spend any money on lights for that bumper if you use it off road. Both my factory lights are busted. Put the money toward a bumper then add lights.
Not even close...
3.4L = 183 HP / 217 Ft Lb
2.7L = 150 HP / 177 Ft Lb
I really liked the 3.4L. However, it wasn't great after adding weight, larger tires, lift. Add the supercharger and it was fun again.
Some thoughts...
2.7L Taco AC has comparable power to weight ratio of the 80s 4runner 22re. So... Judge for yourself if it has enough power. It will get there but you won't be blasting past slow moving vehicles on 2 lane hwy. 3RZ motor isn't as robust as 4.0L. You're likely to need head...
If you smell oil burning it is coming from the valve cover or passenger side rear cam seal. You won't smell oil leaking from the crank seal.
Clean the engine. Make sure it's actually leaking and not just past residue. You will need to pull the accessory mount to remove the tbelt covers...
Taurus fan = bad idea. The mechanical fan pulls much higher amounts of air.
There are lots of parts you should probably do: hoses, cam seals, crank seal, tbelt tensioner, idler pulleys, crank sensor, water pump...
Are you trying to avoid doing a wheel alignment? Either way you'll need an alignment (keeping old springs or replacing). You can also install some FJ80 front coil spring spacers for another cheap lift option.
2" body lift is a ton! Especially if you are running 33s. Maybe if you want to fit 35s. 255/85r16 will fit without body lift (tall 33). I'd only do the body lift if you want to run larger than 33.
Not that I've found... The 2door arms were reinforced and possibly shaved as well. They also appear to have reinforced the subframe. I'll probably do something similar.
