    Fuel Pump

Where would you recommend buying then? Any reputable site? Is the Tacoma pump the same as the 4th gen 4Runner by chance?

Is the FZJ80 worth it in today’s market?

Totally. It adds up SUPER quick. "While you're there" repairs are crazy expensive. As mentioned earlier, anything is reliable with enough money and upkeep! The ultimate question is how often you have to ground the vehicle and perform maintenance/repairs to get that sense of reliablity. Less...

Is the FZJ80 worth it in today’s market?

If they're worth it is a subjective topic. The 80 is a legend in itself, an icon, and will be always held close by their owners, Toyota fans and overlanders/offroaders. To us, it will always be worth it. any one of us would kill to have one and would be perfectly happy owning one. To us? Sure...

Single platform for Toyota Hilux, Tacoma and 4runner

I believe those complaints were because people usually want what you cant have. Frame and suspension are obviously the two main differences. Also the 1GR is way more robust and simple than the 2GR, as are the diesels obviously. Gearing on the Hilux is lower. I'm pretty certain highway...

Single platform for Toyota Hilux, Tacoma and 4runner

Well they shared more with the 1st & 2nd gen than the 3rd gen (for corresponding generations), which is when the truck was really americanized IMO. Even then, powerplant and drivetrain offerings are similar but so is the case with pretty much any Toyota SUV outside the heavy Land Cruiser...

Single platform for Toyota Hilux, Tacoma and 4runner

The fact that Hiluxes and Prados are bare bones utilitarian vehicles is an outdated fact. True up until 10 years ago, but no longer the case. Why would they merge the Hilux and Tacoma? They're viewed as drastically different vehicles and their markets are very well adapted to each of their...

    Series 80 Snorkel?

There have been a couple models of Safari snorkels made for the 80. It seems your part number is out dated. The new part number from what I can gather is SS82R. Meh. Quarter panels are easy enough to repair or replace.

What do you carry on your bumper?

Well, that can be true for some, but as mentioned previously, it can hardly be a generalization. I realize now I didn't respond on my first post when saying this. There is stuff you don't want inside your vehicle: fuel is one of them. There's two ways to carry fuel: A fuel can or two if you...

What do you carry on your bumper?

I agree, let's call it a necessary evil. It shouldn't be done without some serious consideration, or when it's the only option. However, there are ways to do so lightly, and compensating with proper suspension, vehicle handling is still bearable.

    Portable Bluetooth Speakers

UE Booms are popular around here. They have great sound quality, water resistant and are linkable if the group has a couple of them. Battery life is also very very good.

    Difference between Hilux & Tacoma

The short bed, dual cab Tacoma is the only one in the range that compares to a Hilux sizewise. Dual cab Hilux bed dimensions are roughtly 5 feet long by 5 feet wide by 1.5 tall. There is no dual-cab long-bed Hilux as there is in the Tacoma lineup. Single cab Hiluxes do however have a super...

    2014 Tacoma flatbed build

Well by the looks of it you're doing right by her keeping her stock! But I agree, you need to show her off.

    2 spare tires?

You can't make a strategy based solely on one particular past experience, especially in this case.. Counting how many flats you've had in any given time is not really a justification per se, you probably wouldn't bring a spare tire if you did. Bad luck strikes when you least expect it, be it...

    2 spare tires?

IMO, you're overthinking, although you're headed in the right direction. If you're not doing trips that justify a winch as a solo method forself recovery, then justifying the weight of a second spare isn't possible. However I do think its a good idea not relying only on one spare. Having a...

    Diesel Multi Language Decals

I'm not sure I would've called them immaculate but they at least were up to snuff. But yeah, that could be traced to be the root of pretty much every single problem down here. We've been having a run-in of diesel vehicles as of late. Manufacturers are importing diesel variants for the first...

    Diesel Multi Language Decals

I think its more common in the third world. I've recently visited Colombia, Panama, Costa Rica, Mexico, Brazil. They all have attendants. We don't have a single self-serve pump down here. As far as diesel goes, you don't wanna go anywhere near Venezuelan pumps. Best let the attendant take care...

What do you carry on your bumper?

Well there are a few more reasons to removing a spare from its location other than tire size or just looks, you don't have to assume those are the only ones.

What do you carry on your bumper?

just my spare tire. Trying to keep the bumper as light as possible. Rear bumper weight is not desirable because its the farthest point aft of the vehicle, farthest away from the rear axle.
