I've already checked on my other Montero. CPS completely unplugged, on the harness side with key off it reads 0V, key on it reads 11.4V, it doesn't need to be plugged in for the harness side to supply voltage.

I don't, do you know which terminal I should be checking for 12V or just all of them? I believe theres a VB for battery, TACHO for tach reading, GND for Ground, then 6 IB/OC coil pins.

Thanks for the reply, I had considered cutting the female/male plug off the cam position sensor and hardwiring it just to rule out a faulty pigtail. Could it be a ECU going bad, or do you know of any other reason a P0340 trips besides the actual CPS?

I mean is it only designed for sensing voltage or can it also supply voltage to the pump, essentially act as a jumper and bypass the relay. So you've personally run 12v to that wire and it powers your pump as long as the pump itself is operating correctly?
