    UJOR Build Thread

Boy, that silver SWB passenger is really looking great - something about those proportions really nails it. Bummer you had a busy holiday weekend, but I guess it's better than the alternative ...

    Just a Question

I hate to say it, because it comes off as a knock on the Nissan community - which I'm loath to do as I've gained many friends through my Nissan interest, but I think Nissan owners tend to be more value driven (cheap, if you're being unkind) ... there seems to consistently be an undercurrent of...

    Xterra fuel economy :(

Unfortunately it's just not going to happen with this vehicle, carrying an RTT (on heavy tires with other gear), and trying to maintain 70mph (average) ... like Robert said, something's gotta give. If you can back off of the speed requirement (even just down to 60), and you're willing to spend...

    Well said, Robert ...

    Yup ... Nail --> Head

    Xterra fuel economy :(

Sounds about right, especially if you're an AT ... for some reason they seem to do worse (as compared to the MT) than you'd expect. Also depends on mods/gear ... but you probably knew that. If you're running larger than stock tires, you'll get a bit back from accounting for the difference, but...

    Sounds good ... thanks!

My older Tourer 2006 GU Patrol

Cool Patrol, thanks for sharing a few photos ... I always do love seeing details on these, as we can't really get them (the newer models anyway ... less than 25 years old, due to the vagaries of import law) here in the US. Are you planning to go through and detail the build for us? Or post...

That *is* pretty cool, congrats ... can't wait to see it happen.

The SOS Report. The Full Story

This was a phenomenal read ... I know it's be said almost ad nauseam, but thanks for taking the time to collate everything and format the entries ... to say nothing of actually writing it all up. Have you thought about putting it into a series of articles for submission to the front page, or...

    TreeHugger Xterra

XterraNation, Ronin, SCCX and Rugged Rocks are other communities you can check out. Ronin especially since you're Front Range local ... SCCX & Rugged Rocks are both more Southern California oriented; but there are some good tech folks on both. The Nissan community may be (much) smaller than...

    richard310's 04 Xterra

Awesome to see the Lowrance getting some love ... for maps, check out the stuff that Steven at Rugged Routes (http://www.ruggedroutes.com/ - yes, the same Steven as from Rugged Rocks) is doing with Lowrance. He's turning into *the* guy for Lowrance on-land stuff, and while the cards are pricey...

    Infinity qx56 or qx80 a patrol

New QX80 is based on the Patrol ... not the same Patrol you might be thinking of, though (Y60 or Y61). Older QX56 (re-badged Armada) shares the F-Alpha platform with the Armada, Titan, Frontier, Pathfinder and Xterra (as Camelfilter said) ... through 2012 (only 2010 for the QX), at least. 2014...

kiwi build thread. ARB, OME Dakar...drawers + fridge underway.

Ditto ... I like this. A lot. Remind me (apologies if it's easy to find, it's not top of mind right now), does the work space (tan part in the picture above, I'm assuming it's a table/work top - maybe not) cover more shallow storage volume? It also looks like that's a staged drawer ... so if...

    2011 frontier

I've often thought that converting to a Group-31 ought to be relatively easy (it's slightly larger than the stock Group-35(?) ... maybe stock is a 34 ... I don't recall offhand) and you'd pretty significantly increase reserve capacity ... or just go with the stock size but in a deep cycle AGM...

    The Mongrel: FJ62 body + FZJ80 chassis + turbo diesel + ???

Big moves ... thanks for the updates; though I have to confess that I was expecting (hoping? ... maybe just a touch) one of the motors to have found its way into the Ute build.

Fair, and makes sense ... just thought it worth mentioning, especially since you never know who's listening/watching. ;) Amen ... unfortunate, but true (my anecdotal observation as well; and our aftermarket suffers partly due to this, IMO). Cool ... probably a good place, XN would be another...

Do they offer options on coating? I'd be willing to go with something like a varnish or paint, if it would save weight over the full bedliner ... I'm *really* liking the preliminary info coming through on the drawer unit though. Thanks for taking the initiative to pursue it, and please do let...
