First U.S. Spec Kimberley T3 Kruiser Ready to Roam

What are the big Ts costing these days? A few years ago when we were considering one, they were running $160k before any mods. They are definitely very high quality. The just weren't right for us.

    Ember Overland Series

I remember many of us discussing the Ember on this forum and YT when it first rolled out. After looking at the dual axle models carefully, some of us mentioned that it will be interesting to see how many of these units will be seen on the sides of dirt roads broken down in the future. At first...

Imperial going for the mainstream crowd

That's right. No matter how much research and due diligence you do or how much you pay, things will always slip through the cracks on an RV build. It even happened with our Kingdom build, and we wrote up the specs all the way down to the exact size of cabinets, placement of lights, wiring, etc...

    Curt independent trailer suspension..

Good question. I know the MorRyde independent suspension is OEM only (for the Palomino Pause) right now. It wouldn't surprise me if Lippert is the same way with the Curt suspension. Both Cruisemaster and Timbren can be purchased by the do-it-yourselfer.

    Kimberley Kampers USA

You'll pay more for the Kimberley, but it will definitely be worth it to you the first time you go on a rough road. Plus you won't be banging your head and elbows in a Kimberley the way you will in an Oliver. The Oliver is high quality construction, but it's smaller and the suspension isn't...

You got it. I was just being too "polite". 🙂

Imperial going for the mainstream crowd

Isn't that crazy? Talk about something a customer should be able to take for granted. We've just heard so many stories like that over the years that we never take anything for granted. Trust but verify when it comes to wheels/bearings/brakes/suspension!

Imperial going for the mainstream crowd

Very true. No matter what you buy, you should budget a good amount of money (say $5,000 or so) to make any trailer exactly the way you want it. That could mean upgrades, modifications, or even fixing things from the factory that may be to their spec but not yours. For example, one of the first...

    Kingdom Campers?

It feels like they will be phasing out the X22s. If the X145/195 sales take off, there's probably not a lot of demand for their X22 series.

    Kingdom Campers?

It's tough to do a toy hauler using the Cruisemaster suspensions. They are built to excel on rough roads/terrain. You can get some really good CCC capacity on them (especially if it's just for camping/living), but not toy hauler level of performance. That's why you tend to see Timbren straight...

    Our Kingdom Camping Trailer Build

It really surprised us. Four attempts to reset the password and three emails to the "admin" all went unanswered.

    Curt independent trailer suspension..

I've always thought they look fragile, especially when you see them up close and in person. They don't provide very good CCC, so that's a bit of a concern. Overall, I would say the Cruisemaster, Timbren, and even the new MorRyde product on the Pause trailers are more robust options.

    Our Kingdom Camping Trailer Build

I think an F250 would be the minimum, especially if you want to make your rough road towing a breeze. An F150 would be stressed out towing 9,000 lbs (when loaded up for extended camping) over those steep, deep arroyos. Our dry weight is 7,800 lbs. You could lighten that up by skipping the big...

Imperial going for the mainstream crowd

I don't know why IO doesn't use bus bars on the Expion batteries, but based on my conversations with them, that is the way Expion prefers their batteries be installed. We've been living in our Kingdon Caravan XL for over three months now. We keep the inverter on 24 hours a day because we are...
