I think you'll find the 3.42s not bad at all in low range with 33s, that SM465 has a pretty deep first gear. Any case the 3.42s and four speed should make cruising speed much nicer at 65-70
Everything is inside the frame rails, it's tight, but it works. the frame has a pretty significant kick up in the front so it won't get into the motor mount like you think.
They can do it by mail, but I would recommend finding a tuner in your area to do a drive along tune, the results will be much better as long as you find a reputable tuner.
Suburban /end thread
Seriously I have both configurations of four door chevy pickups, ex-cab and crew cab, hands down I would have started with a suburban if I could do it all over again.
Thanks! Fayetteville is a beautiful little town, we enjoyed our time there. We had some pucker moments but staying cool and calm helped a lot.

Where did you order your struts from? Any pictures of them mounted, I'm about to cut the fixed rack off my trailer in favor of a lid and telescoping rack.
5'8" on the 1/2 tons, HD trucks get the 6'6" bed
I've been just fine with my 10 bolt on 37s, I swapped in a Tru-Trac and 4.88s, wheeled it for years, burnouts, donuts, all the stupid stuff, it never let me down
Check out Brother's truck parts, they seem to have some of the stuff LMC cannot get and the parts seem to be a little better quality as well. I envy your project, I'm in the process of a frame off build on my 2003 Silverado and it's quite an undertaking!
Not at all, in the end I'm hoping to have a go anywhere, do anything capable rig, especially with my camping trailer behind it. I would have loved to start with a bit earlier sheetmetal, but I already had the truck, the 67-72s are some of my favorites!
Got the super duty axle completely rid of the brackets finally, quite a daunting task. Ready to start hanging it under the new frame and setting up some good link numbers this week!
Love seeing these Baja trip reports, my wife and I are planning to make Baja our first big adventure trip!
On this note "A full sized pickup would not have been able to squeeze through." Interestingly enough, mid-size vehicles have gotten quite large, I have a 2003 Silverado and the width...
A little bit of news to report, AE finally sent the missing hardware for my wheels so I can mount the other two. I started taking apart the existing suspension to pull the axles and drivetrain as well.
Lots and lots and lots of grinding dust!
Starting to look like it's ready for proper links...

I'm sure the avalanche can't be that much different to be able to use the Zone offroad 1.5" bodylift
They also sell 1 1/4" lift blocks individually.
As far as the G80 in the front diff, I have not seen it done...
