    1124 AF Double Cab

I have to agree with Iain and It will be a lot easier to rectify now than latter down the track with a habitat fitted, the last thing you want is having to fix a chassis crack on the road. I'd want to know if it complies with MB bodybuilding handbook for your model, as they tell you how it...

New Zealand - Go Orange auction 6 x 5023 Buses

Nice post Charlie, thats a lot of info i didn't know about the newer mogs, i would assume then these would have the EAS option from a employer point of view. I have to agree with the others, but most people 40+ in NZ have grown up using a stick, it's slowly changing there, but thats the case...

New Zealand - Go Orange auction 6 x 5023 Buses

the coachwork would take a fair bit of remodelling, but for the right price it may be worth it. Im surprised that all those mogs are manual, i would have imagined that for a tour company it would be easier to use have ordered in the automatic models for employing drivers.

New Zealand - Go Orange auction 6 x 5023 Buses

There is a clear reason why these aren't being used and on the market, Covid19 killed the overseas market for these tour groups in NZ, its a bit hard repaying finance on 6 new unimogs without clients. someone is going to get a reasonable bargain, as with 6 being offered at the same time will...

Unimogadventures - Our build and travel thread

Yeah i noticed you guys like the heat from your travels, it'll make a huge difference from direct sun. We are the opposite, we love the cold, we are leaving bris for Vic highlands via the snowy today for a month of exploring before we come back and head back to the NT when it cools down. I...

    Anyone tried the 310ah cells

John, the dense 1mm rubber we use in the workshop will only move around to .6mm under full compression, we use it to line conductive surfaces in enclosed live HV areas If someone is seeing 1/4" or 6mm swell in a cell then something is wrong... .4mm of movement is acceptable to me. With a...

    Anyone tried the 310ah cells

I’d imagine that there would be some issues with some of the packs I’ve seen made by diy. I can’t get my head around just taped cells to support them, I’ve seen a few where the cells move when they are doing the final torque down, even thought they are strapped. It’s a no brainer to compress...

    Anyone tried the 310ah cells

Good point on the larger cells and vibration, having said that, we travelled quite a bit on corrugated 4X4 roads throughout our last trip around Australia and I haven’t seen any issues. john, nothing wrong with my current LFP battery, apart from it’s too small for our needs now and After 3...

    Anyone tried the 310ah cells

I noticed that there is another offering in the blue wrapped aluminium cells, with the latest being the 310ah cell, its Just a little bit taller than the 280ah cells. I was looking at the 280ah cells for a 560ah 12 volt battery pack to replace my current 3 year old 240ah lithium battery, but...

    The OutFit - Unimog U1700L

They do draw a bit of power, we use one induction cooker (the little guy, as it was small and had variable voltage settings) as i limited my power draw to 100 ah draw. on the 4th power setting we are seeing around 85 ah draw, we might use around 40amps cooking dinner, we use around 6-8ah...

Unimogadventures - Our build and travel thread

I think you have fuel capacity sorted now Iain(y) That Stop Start Lithium starter battery looks interesting, i think i'll go down that path myself if they offer a 100ah version, as my DC-DC draws 60ah. Although i could parallel two together and put one under the passenger seat, but still not...
