    Exped Storage Boxes

Zarges, Pelican, Hardigg and the like all work well. They are available in a variety of sizes so they can be fitted for the items and or the rack/storage space. Jim

    The "Expedition hat" thread

A Tilley and several Stetsons made for LL Bean (seconds), imagine the hat band full of flys. And a Borsalino when the expedition is up town. Jim

What do you look for in an Expo Bike?

I do have a bias for the BMW Dakar, but right there with it is the KLR 650. The advantage of both is that there is much aftermarket support to configure the bike however you want. Another to consider is the DR650. The DR is the best dirt bike of the three, but less refined on pavement...

Very High Quality Molded Expedition Cabin

$52K and the small issue of convincing US customs to let it in the country, it not being 25 years old.

    electric motorcycles for short trips

Lectric Motorcycles They are sort of interesting. But if you can only go 50 or 60 miles on a charge that's hardly enough to justify putting all the gear on and getting the bike out of the garage.

    Factory 2DR Discovery???

Commercial Disco A couple of years ago Land Rover World or Land Rover Enthusiast had an article on the commercial version of the Disco. I bet a search of their archives would turn up the issue, which they would glad to sell you if your really interested.

    19.5 or 20" rims?

IIRC when Earthroamer first entered the market they offered the LV with the choice of the F450 or 550, the 450 option quickly disappeared. To Charlie's point. Jim

New FORD TRANSIT CONNECT - cool delivery van

The Transit Connect uses the UK Focus drive train, while you probably can lift it you may run into the same issues the Element/CRV owners do when attempting to lift those.

    Lift a F 450 like an Earthroamer.

I'm a bit fuzzy, but the F550 is only a cab chassis, but there is an outfitter right next to the factory and if the dealer orders a pickup box the truck is shuffled over and the box is fitted, then it is delivered to the dealer. Jim

    Diesel G-Wagon on Craigslist

If all the DOT/EPA paper work is in order then there is no problem. If its not... Most of the G-wagens that are here gas and diesel are legal and were brought in by a registered importer and federalized. But some weren't so when looking at any gray market vehicle its always good to see the...

    "King Leonidas" Build thread!

I may have missed something, but how do you have the drawer box restrained in case you really bite it and roll the thing over?

    Another vehicle weight/registration discussion

I remember a discussion regarding Totterhomes (campers built on a heavy truck chassis) at RV.net regarding how if the vehicle was registered as an RV, you didn't need a CDL. Of course the professional truckers on the thread thought that was a hoot.

    Sweet Sportsmobile

Tax write off My recollection is, to be eligible to write off the interest as a second home, an RV (or boat) must be self contained, meaning that a toilet and possibly a shower is needed. And I don't believe porta-potties count. Jim
