    2015 Renegade Trailhawk

You're right the KL is not liftable that's why I didn't list it. Unless you're going to go racing the bodies of the others hold up quite well. I think it's not the off road capability you're talking about, but the load carrying that body on frame has the advantage of. Jim

    2015 Renegade Trailhawk

Excuse me Dalko43, but XJ, ZJ, WJ, WK, WK2, KJ, and KK are all unibody and are quite liftable. And are true off road vehicles It's not whether the vehicle has a unibody or body on frame, but what type of suspension and how it's designed that determines how it's lifted and how high it can be...

Mopar lift kits now available as dealer option

That seems like a pretty good price on the 2" lift if it includes all that was mentioned. I wonder what the labor would run. I'm sure there are some owners that would have that done by the dealer just to make sure their warranty stayed intact. Jim

    Trail rated Liberty Ground Clearance

The company that Jeep has been involved with and still is, is NATC. I have no idea of any other company. It's also foolish to expect all Jeeps to have the same off road capabilities as the Wrangler. The XJ, ZJ, and WJ didn't. The KJ did miss it's target by 700 lbs. I'll agree that the suspension...

Jeep J8 vs Defender 110 vs Mercedes G-Wagen vs Nissan Patrol Y61 vs Land Cruiser 76

Load carrying is pretty good in the J8. When we ran FRL tests it would take quite a stack of ballast mats to get it there. And was a pain in the rear to load and secure the ballast. I believe all the ones we tested ran a 24volt system. The only luxury items were the a/c (thank goodness), and...

Jeep J8 vs Defender 110 vs Mercedes G-Wagen vs Nissan Patrol Y61 vs Land Cruiser 76

While my preference would be the J8, and I do know they have a rough ride with the rear leafs, especially if lightly loaded, but it's still a very good vehicle. If doing world travel, then parts availability should be of primary importance over other factors. I vote for Land Cruiser 76. Jim

    Trail rated Liberty Ground Clearance

If it's easy stuff then it shouldn't be a problem. Just remember that the Jeep has a much stiffer/stronger body structure and will hold up to body twisting better. Jim

Yes, they were the same. One of the best things you can do for the KK is getting a good quality lift. Jim

Your G is coming along well, looking forward to your stories once you start taking trips. Your other toy looks like a 40's Cadillac. Is it and what model? Jim

    Easter Jeep Safari Concepts 2015

My own guess, there is a small chance. I know there are a lot of people within Jeep that want something like this. A business case needs to be built first. I wish I could give you a wink wink, nod nod. I've been wanting something like this for many years. Jeep almost did an suv like this about...

    Easter Jeep Safari Concepts 2015

No idea on prices or trim, etc. Two problems exist right now. One is the plant is at maximum capacity, no room for anything else. The plant is supposed to be enlarged to allow more capacity when the next Wrangler is built. Second the plant is set for the current platform, hard points and...

    Easter Jeep Safari Concepts 2015

The one issue with these doors is the center 'post' which hinders rearward vision. Maybe 70/30 doors to off set the 'post'. Jim

My 2002 Ford Escape Overlanding rig.

Very cool! I like out of the ordinary vehicles. I'm a Jeep guy, but even I get bored with all the same run of the mill stuff. Nice to think outside the box. More of a challenge. Jim
