The rack just uses 6 c clamps to mount to the bed. It weighs in right around 120 lbs, so it’s easily lifted out of the bed with two people. The tent is installed and removed the same way. I’m currently finishing building a shop for my dad where I may install a hoist in the coming months. If so...
Phase one of the rack is complete. Phase two will be adding an elevated removable kayak carrier that sits above the tent. Hopefully in the next month I’ll find some more free time to get it built.

On my 17’ F-350 it came with the 48 gallon tank from the factory since I went long bed crew cab. The short bed crew cabs are fitted with 34 gallon tanks, as are the supercab long beds. I’ve also have a 40 gal aux tank in the bed, so I can carry 88 gal of diesel with ease.
The 36 gallon tank on the Fords is an option and not standard. Toyota has been putting a 38 gallon tank in all the Tundras since 2016 now. GM and Dodge are still behind the eight ball.
Finally put enough mileage on her since the delete to get an accurate portrayal of fuel mileage. I’m very pleased with the results. I’m seeing 16-17 mpg on the highway running 75-77, and 14-15 in town. This is up a solid 3-3.5 mpg from stock. I’m impressed for a truck this size running 37”...
The DPF filter is heavy. While the motor may be around 600 lbs more, the DPF and EGR will tack on a few more pounds. Also, the 6.7 will come with the 6R140 transmission, not the 6R100. I’m sure that will account for a few pounds as well.
My dad is on his 2nd Tundra since 14’. Ive put about 15k miles on his trucks. They’re not my Ford, but they’re also not a Dodge. We’ve got 3-4 of the 07-13’ model Tundras in our work fleet. The lights on those are noticeably worse than the 14+ trucks though.
I’ve had 4 different Ram 2500s from 12-14’, multiple Chevy 2500s from the current gen and previous Gen, as well as a 17’ F-350. The Rams headlights were by far the worst I’ve used in any vehicle, and definitely the worst in the current HD trucks.
Manufacturers are making these ECMs harder and harder to crack, so it’s taking tuners longer to access them. The 17’ 6.7 wasn’t introduced too much longer before the 17’ L5P Duramax, but tunes have been out for the Powerstroke for over 6 months now. The L5P still isn’t cracked, and the word is...
No issues whatsoever finding anyone to delete these trucks. The scarcest part is finding a good tuner. Kory Willis of PPEI tuned quite a few trucks with EFI Live. EZ Lynk is the platform I’m using to actually tune the truck, but the tunes are from PPEI.
