Here's a little update. So the JK is at my local dealer getting its Mopar 7 pin wiring harness installed and a new rear drive shaft boot. As far as dealers goes my local dealer is one of those Chrysler, Dodge, Kia, Volvo and oh yea Jeep dealerships who wasn't created with all of its essential...
Well I couldn't tell you because I never drove the truck without the AEV snorkel. Maybe someone else can comment. The truck has plenty of power and torque.
I don't mind anyone posting in my build forum. I want this to grow to a forum crashing size. Anyway here is my worthless uneducated theory on the JL vs TruckLite. I think the JL speakers only appear brighter in these non-real world tests but in real life are actually poor performers. I would...
Here are some detailed photos under the hood showing the snorkel attachment. Also you can see the sPod on the other side which ties into that switch system you were asking about.
If you are referring to the photo you quoted that is the sPod. It is a very convenient way to manage electrical gadgets in the truck. Everything from the air compressor to all the lighting can be controlled via a protected circuit system under the hood. The digital dial in the center of that...
I concur here. Without a proper aiming job they are junk. When done right they put amazing amounts of light in the right place. Fortunately aiming lights in these JK takes nothing more then a skinny T-15 driver.
Cool what helo do you fly? As for the lights yes I am running TruckLite headlights and fog lights. I am blown away by them! I was actually disappointed in the JW Speaker ones. The pattern was too concentrated and left far too much unlit on the sides. The truck lites have a proper pattern...
I know I suck at documenting. Tell me what you want a photo of.
Next up is the following:
Kenwood D-710A Dual Band Radio
Drawer System from AT Overland with slide out fridge for my ARB
Modifications to my Chaser Adventure Trailer to add stove, integrated table, and 5 lbs propane bottle
Dual...
Sure. I had my local stereo shop install the MyGig into my 730N which gives you all the video interfaces and other features. Then I used an Alpine rear view camera (whichever the best one they had that matched my resolution) and mounted it to the pole on the AEV bumper. I grabbed power from...
I hit a deer last year in a truck and it wasn't fun. I was talking to our FLIR aviation rep and he showed me the tech they are developing for the automotive industry that approximates some of the capabilities we enjoy in the helo and it sounded really cool. A warm body object shows up like a...
Today I installed a back up rear camera in the Jeep. It was pretty straight forward and interfaces really well with the MyGig on the UConnect 730N. My next AV step is to install a FLIR front camera.
So today I installed the Hide-a-steps from MORE and I have to say I really like them. I was a little on the fence about the concept but the build quality is impressive. These things are tough. Removing the step is really easy with the pin. All in all the installation took me about 1 hour but...
So I decided to cancel my order for the Ace Sliders and go with something a little more minimalistic. I'm thinking about going with the MORE Hide-a-step but haven't really found any long term reviews. Also I am wondering about someone's experience installing them on the rear doors of a 4 door...
