Look looooooooong and hard. Pass on ones you think are perfect. Look at a lot in person. Look at thousands online. DON'T skimp on anything like pw, pl, cruise. You'll regret it. Ask me how I know. I looked and read about vans for six months solid before I bought one. Flew to go get it...
I'm a few months out yet from hitting the interior part of my build. I plan to run a bunch of spares for expansion and some pull cord. Wire is fairly cheap, but my time isn't once the interior is built to have to pull it all apart to run in new wiring. I used to wire airplanes for a living...
Wow. That's it? Just water, eh? Okie dokie. You'd think by reading other forums talking about gas tank welding you were guaranteed to die. K. I shall proceed with water when the time comes.
I haven't come across a great answer for this in my seemingly thousands of hours reading on vans. How do you clean fuel tanks before going at it with the cut off wheel to shorten the tank? I'm sure you have a great solution, but what is your process to evacuate fumes so as not to go kablooie?
Incredible build! Add me to list of folks that would love to be part of a meet and greet in Boise. Shay, shoot me a text if you guys set something up. I'd love to tag along.
Yeah, but...but...but..4WD...MG...but....
I know what you're saying. After seeing what a LSD and lower tire pressure will do, I'd say you are right. However, lots of snow in my van's future. No substitute for having power to the front wheels in that stuff. Plus, cool toys and all....
From what I know a 250 and 350 are the same things with the exception of payload. As soon as you change springs those badges don't matter much anymore. There will be very little if any difference as far as years go.
The transmissions have different boot patterns from diesel to gas so those...
I was never able to get over the look of small tires on the Sprinter. I just don't understand why they are spec'd that way even with the intention of using them as cargo vans. Hence I have an E series that will soon have 35s. I am not familiar with the ins and outs of fitting bigger tires on...
I've decided to at least pull it out of the donor van before it goes to the crusher. I will install the wiring for the rear hvac along with the rest of the harness I am adding to my van. I'll hold off on putting it in the van until I get some trips on it to see how I like it with out. The parts...
The talent and cumulative experience on this forum is astonishing. Logging in has been the favorite part of my day for months now. You all give me the motivation to dig in and attempt things I have never done before. Even though for the truely gifted fabricators and mechanics, the things I will...
