Choose wheels and tires (at least the same OD) the same as the tow vehicle and go from there.

    Car trailer plug

Unless you have something exceptional you don't really need that. I have my disco wired for my flat bed trailer and has no trouble powering the indicators, tail lights and 4 side marker lights. I just use a converter, not powered, to go from the disco lights to the goofy common circuit US...

    Car trailer plug

Most likely a poor connection (which would include corrosion) in the circuit somewhere. Have a look at the ETM, that will show you where all the connections are located.

    Windows 10 has arrived

Don't get too dependent on any Windows 10 features. Unless you are Win10 Enterprise user you'll have little to no choice on updates installing, even if they are known to break something...

    Roof Rack installs or Retrofit?

Hat was my point really. I grossly overload my roof rack at times. Way over the manufacture's recommended maximum load. I assume others do also. From the dealer, they are probably absolved from any liability if you keep under their load recommendations which factors in how they attach the roof...

    Roof Rack installs or Retrofit?

I wouldn't install a roof rack with rivnusts unless you're using a heck of a lot of them. I'd remove the headliner and have the fasteners go through the structural supports. Or at a minimum what fog cutter suggested.

Samsung Galaxy S6 Active - Pretty Rugged

Yeah, the lack of micro sd isn't a deal breaker for me, but non-replaceable battery definitely is. My next phone, when my Rugby gives up the ghost, will probably be a Sonim.

    Recovery Stories

I've done similar, only with one snatch block. I was headed to my cabin one night when I side slipped off the snowy trail. Attempts to get back on the trail resulted in me sliding further off the trail and hung up on a small tree wedged between my rear axle and bumper. I ran the winch cable 90...

Trans World Record Expedition tire size trivia

I've finally gotten around to reading "Who Needs a Road?" and in it they mention Firestone made a special size tire for them. Anyone know the details on them? I'm sure they were 8 or 10 ply bias, but they don't mention the size.

Samsung Galaxy S6 Active - Pretty Rugged

I've had the Samsung Rugby for about 3 years and found it to be very rugged. When I first saw the "Active" I thought it odd they advertised it as something innovative. That said, I was seriously looking at them until I saw they don't have a replaceable battery or micro sd capability. I've used...

Anyone used this stuff as a traction mat?

It works better as a roof rack floor than as a traction mat. There's absolutely nothing for grip.

Water Jugs?? What do you use?

The one on the right is for water, obviously. If I want ice water on tap I use one of these. Galvanized exterior and stainless steel liner. Holds 5 gallons.

    Coffee Makers?

I use a percolator, but when I was in England in Jan/Feb I was in an ironmonger's and saw some really nice stainless insulated coffee presses. i may get one. I don't know if they were VonShef, but this gives you an idea. The vonshef web site totally sucks so here's a link to them on Amazon...
