Here are the pics from he install of the lift. Pretty straight forward.
The bumper install went alright. Was overall happy with the arb but there was some fitment issues that I was supposed about form a company as big as them. Nothing huge justa. Bunch of little issues.
Final...
Yea gotta love that sequester!!
Anyways, the best investment you can do in learning what you can do right now is try to take some entry level off roading classes, read anything and everything about off roading. I dont have the link on me, but read the old school army manual on winching and...
Welcome to the club, you are going to love your X. When I was also looking for a new truck I was dead set on the Tacoma, and then just took the Fronty for a drive, and that was it. I think Nissan makes a better product, they have always been 2nd to Toyota and as a result makes a better...
A3MON,
I want to precurser this by saying I am not trying to be an an A## H### but my 8 years in the Coast Guard has tought me one thing that has transgressed into all aspects of my life, you have to pay to play. I have gone on too many SAR cases to rescue some guy who had NO buisness being...
I got the lift installed, was pretty straight forward, just took a while as all I had was hand tools and just me, 6 jack stands, jack and a plethora of rachet straps. I will post pics up when I get home. First impressions are very favorable, even without my winch on yet, the fron HD springs...
I'm am BM on an 87 down in port Angeles. Good to meet fellow coasties!
Anyways some parts showed up yesterday!
After going back Nd forth and up and down, I finally settled on a regular old warn m8000. The extra 300 or so for the synthetic and 85 for the hawse relocation bracket made it a...
I will post some pics when I get back home, but I also have a fronty and the cap changed they truck. I now effectively have a 5 foot long trunk, which I love and if you have a HUGE item that you need to move in your truck, you can still take the cap off a lot earlier then cutting the roof of an...
I'm digging the build. When I get home I will be doing the same thing, and cutting my fenders, I have to be honest, I think I am going to be a lot more nervous then you look in that pic. Nice X!
I just got word that my lift kit is waiting at the house, and my bumper is going to be there on tuesday. I am looking forward to starting the work when i get back from back east. One question I have is will a zeon winch fit on the arb bumper? I read from ARB that all you need is a fitment kit...
That is exactly what I was thinking about doing for drawers, because realistically I need something that can be easily removed, so I can use it for dump runs when I'm not cruising the back country. I am also a firm believer in keeping it simple.
There is most certainly validity to the saying K.I.S.S. Keep it simple stupid.
With that being said, I guess all I need is some nice 1/0 wire to run to the truck bed, and be done with it.
Pretty simple, I am going to be setting up my truck with dual batteries soon and I have a question that I just can't seem to answer myself.
My truck is a 11 nissan frontier and it will be running a warn m8000, arb fridge, various ipods and phones as well as probably a total of 6-8 25 watt led...
The leer cap was worth its weight in gold when i moved cross country, and to be honest has made the back of the truck so much more useful. I was orginally worried that it was going to take away some functionality, but in all reality it has been phenomninal for trips to the dump and camping...
Update. Ome kit ordered. Full md leafs and hd fronts. Greaseble shackles the whole nine. Arb bull bar and some stainless steel brake lines.
My question is for winches. It almost looks cheaper to buy a m8000 wire rope version and replace it with a synthetic?
Also stay tuned for my...
