Hi all, I know this topic has been discussed ad nauseam in this forum and I've gone through old threads like Parking heaters at altitude and What is the BEST....High Altitude Solution for Heating? etc. but I'm not looking to rehash the same discussions. I'm only trying to decide between getting...
Should be fine; I looked into the Sikaflex stuff and it is way stronger than any glue ought to be lol. I think I've also seen other builds where they didn't bond it to the walls at all and seem to have just relied on the tight fit to keep it in place which would worry me.
Ah, nice. Do you know if the aluminum extrusion frame will be glued to the wall or just made to fit so snugly it doesn't go anywhere? We're planning on doing something similar but will prob do it ourselves.
We watched a ton of videos about recirculating showers in RVs and I think cleaning the filters can be every couple of weeks and replacing them every few months? But those are full time recirculating showers meaning they're dealing with soap and shampoo and whatnot which ours won't have to do, so...
Heard from AV last month that they should be able to get our truck in the workshop and build our box Oct-Dec. In the meantime, we've been planning out our plumbing.
This is the part-time-recirculating shower part of it:
The idea is for all the soap and grime to go away into the grey tank...
RIP to all the camper boat folks who were waiting for Starlink maritime. $10k setup and $5k/month. ☠
Really hope Starlink for RVs in motion are not gonna go that route...
Yeah I'm not in any rush, we'll be able to use our current ones for years. But eventually will have to replace them and lithium could be the way to go. Ours are currently outside but may need to get moved around, we'll see.
Hmm, we'll have to do some calculations and see if 100A will suffice for us. I have no idea yet how complicated/expensive it would be to add a second one, heh. Thanks for the lithium starter battery idea, very interesting. Mine were just replaced two mechanics ago but would be good to know how...
Random question but I saw an electrical diagram from last year on pg 16 saying you'll probably need a 2nd alternator. Did you ever decide to get one and if so, which one?
It's a radiation safety thing. If I understand correctly they just have to install it somewhere where the dish won't ever be pointing at anyone. Seems like most DIYers would do the right thing anyway, unless they have a rooftop deck where they stand in the way of the dish or something.
The FCC authorizes SpaceX’s Starlink system to be used on vehicles in motion!
As of yesterday!!!
If I'm not mistaken, this is for the HP ESIM (high performance earth stations in motion) terminals with dish size 48 x 52 cm. No height given though.
And installation likely only done by...
It can be shipped to AV at any time, so that's always an option I guess. But I'm inclined to wait for news about the version that can be mounted to a moving vehicle without voiding the warranty.
This seems to just be an RV roaming plan using the same dish as before. Maybe as a stopgap until...
Starlink RV is available to order already! https://www.starlink.com/rv
I'm tempted to order it already and have it shipped to AV so they can plan the driver's cab roof space around it.
But currently it's not (supposed to be) for use while in motion. Just not sure if there will be a hardware...
It's all coming together so nicely! LOVE the paint job on your motorbike. And the leather saddle is gorgeous. Did you add more padding inside? And will you cover the motorbike when it's on the carrier so the leather doesn't crack in the sun?
I know very very little about alternators at this point, but just yesterday I happened to come by this page from Victron that talks about high output alternators. In the same Victron website there is this PDF and Balmar seems to be their trusted brand (by association I would trust it too). If...
Hi everyone! I hope I can get some honest opinions from those of you who have carried motorbikes for some time and have experienced the real forces/vibration/jolting that go into the support points while doing some hairy tracks. The bike will go on something like this:
For the front wheel I...
We based it on AV's solidworks model but remodeled it. The CNC router will be great for sure! If we build our truck here in Spain we can use our friend's, otherwise we may look into buying a kit.
