Not the same thing at all.
Making drinking illegal would be a more accurate comparison. We all know how well prohibition worked for people that wanted to drink.
Drunk driving would be more compatible to pointing a loaded gun at random people. Which every gun owner knows is already illegal.
Sorry for the late reply, I didn't see the update.
Yeah, it's mostly a cargo thing. Have to haul hay on a regular basis and I wouldn't want to put a dead moose or elk in my living quarters.
Nice looking rig youve got!
No muffler on mine yet. I don't have a lot of space for one. Might just see if I can add one easily only when needed, camping near others in the cold doesn't happen too often
I've used a 'p' clamp with the rubber strips for mine. They are inexpensive and function ok. I can still hear the ticking but it's only 3 feet from our heads on the out side of the camper wall.
I am surprised at how loud the exhaust is though. Doesn't bother us inside but you can hear it...
I'd build a riser out of 2x4 like a 10" tall wall. Bolt or clamp the bottom to the truck rail and bolt or clamp the top to the topper. I'd opt for bolting through. Skin the exterior with plywood. Remove the rear window and replace with a piece of plywood cut to the dimension you need to...
We are definitely abusing the battery. We use about 30% per day/night. So with that in mind in 2 days we are drawing the battery below the recommended 50% to about 40%. Down to about 10% after 3 days. The webasto, and I believe the fridge also, have a low voltage cutoff at 10.5v.
I do...
Was out again over the new year holiday. Similar temps to last time. Still just the condensation on the RV door and just under the windows.
I am going to rebuild the door and add a better window and insulation. Still need to add the latches on the cabinets. Heater worked well with the 15...
Did some winter camping and ice fishing for the new year.
I think mine counts as a hardside since there is no fabric for the popup section yet so we only use it with the top down.
Nice truck! I considered a reg cab too but wanted a bit more space. I went from a ram to a Ford just because the truck was not available with an 8' bed and extended cab configuration. ****** Ram?
Yeah, this is great! Really nice work so far.
I noticed the same thing with the reico titan jacks; lots of wobble when they're up higher.
I just deal with it when loading my camper, actually helps a bit being able to shove it around a bit before setting it in the bed. When we use it off the...
Do they know what happened? Was it a wabasto petrol heater? Chinese knock off petrol heater?
I have two webasto petrol heaters and no issues with either yet, but I've used the one in the camper less than 20 nights at this point.
I would just get a 20' box truck if I were you.
With a 20' long box you're not going to be offroading much, so no need for the fancy torsion free subframes.
Buy a box truck whatever length you want and build out the inside, lots of examples of that online.
If you're after 4x4 try to find a 4x4...
Propane will remain a liquid at -40. Even at temperatures higher than that if consuming the fuel it can drop the temperature in the tank enough to effect the output.
I have no experience with a propane heater like the one you are referring to, so I am not sure of the consumption rate could...
This post reminds me of the goat shell guy that posted here a couple months ago.
I was initially really interested in this type of rig; but, I came to the realization that it's not practical for me.
I ended up going the truck camper route over something like this for the following reasons:
-...
Our commercial trucks have them mounted to the outside of the service bodies in most cases.
The government fleet I worked for previously had them all mounted behind the seats.
I have the element extinguishers on both mine and my wife's vehicles. Its in the glove box in my truck and in the back...
Both marine grade 4x8 and Baltic birch 5x5 sheets were available at my local store. After looking at the Baltic birch they had in stock I decided to build using the marine grade. Many of the Baltic birch sheets had portions that were delaminated already, or possibly never recieved glue.
