We went to a foam shop and tried a bunch of combos before purchasing some firm 4" foam and a 2" latex topper. They can cut it to what you need and are pretty helpful with foam knowledge.

That'd be a good way to go for sure. I just used a skill saw and a jig saw to cut them out. I tried to use as much of the wood as possible, this way I could use the piece I cut out as the door. And the wood grain matches too.

We're the vinyl planks glued down? Iam going to be doing the floor space in my camper soon and was planning on vinyl plank flooring. It's a really small floor space so I may not get as much movement. We're talking 3'x6' in mine.
