AutoHome has more than 60 years of experience in designing and building hard shell roof top tents from fiberglass. My company has been representing them in the USA for more than 15 years. Mounting a Columbus on a shell

Todd We have had hundreds of customers fit their AutoHome tents to Camper shells. I have one mounted on an ARE shell on my F350. I recommend that you use a set of mounting tracks from Yakima or Thule, set two (or three) crossbars and mount your Columbus to that . If you need further advise...

I wonder if the stainless cookware that is SOOOO popular bears the CA warning label? I've not seen it.

    Roof top tent sheets/bedding

We usually recommend a down quilt. It will compress to nearly zero and, depending on the quilt you choose, will be cozy and warm.

    Why?

    Weight on top of RTT?

There are dynamic weight limits on vehicles. This is a good place to start when considering adding weight to the rooftop. These limits are not about the strength of the vehicle's roof, but all about the center of gravity, braking and suspension. If the combined weight of the crossbars, tent and...

    Costco has a RTT

We (AutoHomeUSA) have had several customers do this. Sometimes successfully. Not really a true pop top without working out a way to open the 'tent' from inside the vehicle. It HAS been dome, tho'.

    Anyone fly fish in stillwater?

Fly fishing can be just as complicated or simple as you wish to make it. Your 10 weight is way too much for freshwater and most saltwater applications. I suggest that Tenkara is a simple method of fly fishing, the gear is not expensive and it is effective - in running water. For stillwater...

Hard shell tent - are gas struts really better?

Generally, the Maggiolina and Air Top will have about 25% more interior room than the Columbus and much more useable floor space. The Columbus is more convenient to set up and stow away… but not by much. I think the same will be trust of other hard shell tents - the slant top models will have...

Import RTT From China? Ever try it? Pitfalls concerns?

Although these are products are cheap, importation of this type (or possibly ANY type) of product is best left to importers who do this commercially and understand how to do it. If you are buying one-off from an overseas vendor, they can ship ANYTHING they want, really, and your recourse is...

    Rtt + atc topper

I believe that the best thing to do would be to use a Yakima track system - it will bolt directly to the topper and distribute the weight of two cross bars, tent and occupants. This is the set up I have on the ARE topper on my F350 - it has served be well with the AutoHome Columbus tent that...
