    Nissan Titan XD PRO

Payload is an issue with the XD as well. My buddy had that issue when we was shopping around for a truck, WAITING on the XD's specs (and decided to go with a Dodge for the better payload and fuel economy. FastLane Truck pointed out the same problem. I like Nissan and the old Titan, awesome...

    Colorado_Outbacks Trail(er) Blazer

Ah ok. Just typically vehicles have a seperate light for signals then for braking. Running lights are shared with the brake lights. Since your not there yet, I just figured I'd share the information since you're keeping the stock lights.

    Colorado_Outbacks Trail(er) Blazer

Hehe, I guess he could. I looked into making one, but for the price, I didn't bother. Mind you, you can go the custom route and make the truck and trailer connector custom, but at least with the adapter, you can make it standard and the lights will work for any vehicle that tows it, with the...

    Colorado_Outbacks Trail(er) Blazer

I love these types of builds. If you want to retain the seperate signal and brake lights, you can get a box to do it. https://www.etrailer.com/Accessories-and-Parts/Tow-Ready/118158.html I also used a 7-pin trailer connector and the 7th wire was used for the reverse lights on the trailer. The...

show us your truck bed trailers

I plan on running the drum brakes on the truck axle eventually, but I don't want to go the route of surge brakes. The only problem is that the electric-to-hydraulic actuators is expensive. The parking brake I will however connect soonish.

Question about using an RTT on campground

Ya, same. If I were using a regular rent, my truck would still be on the site, so if the tent is on the ground, or on the roof of the truck, it's still a tent. With the trailer, I just say small tent trailer. I've never been asked to elaborate at the gate, but on the campsite, it does turn...

Xterra vs Pathfinder - Why Isn't the R51 More Popular As An Expo Rig?

I've got as friend who wheels one. He's put in airbags in the coils in the back to handle loads, and made his own custom skid plates., He's even taken it to Rausch Creek. I have seen one locally that looks like it had a body lift on it.

Nissan Frontier Truck Bed Off-Road Trailer - The "Frontrailer"

You know Redeth005, you got me thinking about the alternator setup and it's charging the last few days, and I had gotten an idea to actually test to see what the slowest speeds that thee alternator would work at, and it would be to test my own truck! Now, I have 4.6 rear end rather then the 4.9...

Nissan Frontier Truck Bed Off-Road Trailer - The "Frontrailer"

Wow thanks! I'm honestly new to fabricating and welding, but I'm enjoying it. I guess I really got into wanting to make stuff myself cause I had ideas on what I wanted, but they didn't exist, and people looked at me weird for my ideas and they they're not feasible/possible, so I just wanted to...

Clearance question for those that have built telescoping racks with squre tubing

Thank you! :) I use ones from Princess Auto, which is a place similar to your Harbour Freight that you guys have down in the USA. I went that way cause I can get them easilly, and I bought them on sale for C$50 each on sale, C$75 when not. They are the perfect length I needed, and are good...

    Redeth's Overland Trailer Build

You're probably right. Sometimes I wonder if I'm getting in over my head, haha. I don't think there's an issue with level since it actually uses a pump for the fuel. I don't mind running a second fuel, it will come in handy for extending the range of the vehicle, and maybe if I put in a little...

Clearance question for those that have built telescoping racks with squre tubing

Thanks! I have a tonneauu cover that goes on top of it, and the tent mounts to the OEM roof rack from a Frontier, that mounts to that racking underneath.

Clearance question for those that have built telescoping racks with squre tubing

My rack is made using 2" ID trailer hitch tubing for the supports and 2" OD tubing of varying thicknesses depeding on there and that they're doing. It may be big, but I wanted the electric actuators inside the tubing, and the 2" ID tubing has one side cut out to accomodate the actuator. It...

Nissan Frontier Truck Bed Off-Road Trailer - The "Frontrailer"

Thanks, man! I'm far from done. She was still a full-pickup truck barely over a year ago, and only rolling as a trailer March 2015, and finished the lift/rack system for the tent the end of May, but from there, I was gone on a course out of province from June-Sept, then mid-Oct to mid-Nov on an...

    Redeth's Overland Trailer Build

Wow. How have I not come across your build! Great unique idea on how to build it and your thinking is very similar to mine! For mine, I went with a new custom frame, cause I was suggested against mating old metal to new for the tongue of the trailer, but I was more easily able to get rid of the...
